Tanmay Gaware Review at University Of Edinburgh [ED], Edinburgh | Collegedunia

University of Edinburgh

The overall experience was good as I got the opportunity to study at one of the best universities in the world. At the same time, I also got the opportunity to interact with people from all over the world, learn from them, and developed a life long friendship

Course Curriculum :

The course is quite updated as many of the Professors used to change their course materials every year and we used to discuss latest case study, business topics and etc. The course had a proper practical experience in terms of consulting projects and we all visited many companies as part of industrial tour

Exams :

I gave IELTS exam in which I scored 7 and for my program it was the only score that I needed to submit. LOR- Professor/ Job, CV- 1 page resume UK style and SOP: answer the SOP questions and give it to experts or friends to re-read your answers and give their opinion Interview round: No, I didn't had any round of interviews. But SOP's, CV and LOR are important. University of Edinburgh is quite selective for their Masters degree. My program had acceptance rate of 12%

Placement :

The university student development team will help you with networking, CV, Cover letter, mock interview and will organize job fair. But don't expect that the companies will come to the university for job interview like India

Internship :

No

Fees :

27000

Scholarship :

No

Faculty :

The faculty are very approachable. You can expect a class strength of 30-70 people and in total you will have about 4-7 different faculty who would teach you, programme director, mentor and etc. The business school had student development team which helps you to prepare for interview, CV, cover letter, job hunting strategy and etc. The university also has a department which supports your mental health. The faculty comes with proper industry experience, teaching experience and some of them are also visiting faculty at Harvard, IIM-Bangalore and etc

Campus Life :

The university provides free wifi, the business school has its own cafeteria, small library and private study rooms which means you don't have to go to the central library or the university cafeteria. In terms of extra curricular activities there are lots of different student clubs and if you want to open a student club the university would support you. The university also operates a student bar where you can study on your laptop, watch sports game or play pool.

Hostel :

I was living in private accommodation but you can also go for university accommodation which comes in ensuite and room sharing option. Usually for washing machine and dryer you have to go in the communal laundry room, the wifi will be free in the building, near the accommodation there will be supermarkets. You have the option to pay for accommodation rent in a single payment or in instalments. For the laundry expect to pay about 5-7 pound for every wash
