My University Experience

MM
7.5 /10

It was very enlightening and gave me a chance to grow. Coming from a 3rd world country to a 1st world country is not easy but fortunately I got comfortable as time went on. I can look back and say I enjoyed my university experience as it has made me the person I am today which I am proud of.

Course Curriculum :

It is valid and up to date. Most of the books and information we used were from recent articles which helped us gain information on current events and keep us up to date with what he happening within our civil engineering industry.

Exams :

My scores: 19/20 Points at A Level. I had an A in Mathematics, B in Accounting, A in English and an A in Business Studies. I submitted a Personal Statement whereby i wrote about my qualities at school and also my character and why I believed I should be enrolled at the uni. Documents required included birth certificate, A Level results and Passport.

Placement :

They are great and helpful. There is a website run by the university called Handshake which helps you in your job search and gives you recommendations.

Internship :

I got a graduate job at Patrick Parsons.

Fees :

£13000 per year

Faculty :

My class of Civil Engineering had about 30 students meaning on and on average each faculty had about 75 students. The staff were great because they cared about our growth as students and also made sure we understood what we were being taught.

Campus Life :

Campus life is not as active as I hoped. Most people are usually in their rooms. Some events were planned but a few people showed up. The infrastructure is amazing though. The library was open 24/7 and the Wi-Fi was always working at full speed. There were playing grounds for football and basketball which were also well maintained as well.

Hostel :

The accommodation rooms were good. I lived in a studio which was large enough for all of my possessions and had extra space as well. Whenever there was something that needed to be fixed the staff on campus would fix it within a day. The average rent was £600 per month
