Course Curriculum Overview

5

Law was always on the cards for me because Law studies are a little tough and I like things which aren't easy. Yes five years were too much and especially because we were hit by Covid. Our classes didn't hampered a bit though as online classes continued and even exams were conducted online during the Covid.

Placement Experience

5

Placements luckily during our batch were quite good as our of 200-220, more than half were placed. Our batch infact was the game changer for our university as looking at our placements record a lot of students started applying for law in Amity Gwalior.

Fees and Financial Aid

Amity University Gwalior may not be as good as Amity University Noida but BA LLB (Hons) from here definitely helped me get a decent job and now since I passed out 3 years ago, I would say the fees was justified. I paid 1.6 lakhs in final 2 years before that it was 1.4 lakhs. In the first year when I joined it was 1.2 lakhs a year.

Campus Life

5

Amity Youth Fest or Amichroma is our annual fest. Our fest is very highly rated because in Gwalior no other college or university has fest of that standard. Also, our infrastructure though lack some major facilities. I think it has changed now because I passed out in 2023 and because of lockdown the development stopped.

Admission

Admission were based on ranking in CLAT. However our total law batch size in 2018 was of around 200-220 students. Law wasn't so popular then and therefore admission were granted to all who applied. Things have changed now as the seats have increased but so is the competition as well.

Faculty

5

One good thing which our faculty used to do was give us a layout of the syllabus on the first day of each semester. Also they used to give us a proper deadline that by this we need to finish. So they are always on their toes and make students be on their toes as well. 2 years we were during lockdown and classes happened online still their zeal didn't broke by an inch.

Night Life

5

Gujari Mahal, Saas-Bahu Temple, the Sun Temple and the Gwalior Fort which has evening music and light show are some of the most prominent hangout places. Some cafes are there nearby our university such as Raju Tea Cafe and Aslam Biryani House.

Placements I think we should skip it as very rarely do we get placements from Dr Harsingh Gour University. So, most of us are searching on our own while some are applying for further studies. I am also planning for IILM and will keep giving Bar Council Exams alongside.

Placement cell pf pura is backed by Alumni Network or rather ea very strong alumni network which consists of students working in courts and practicing under top judges and top legal firms like Amarchand and all. So students of our college are invited for mock tests of those firms and those who clears it do get jobs in such firms.

Law is one such field which attracts me the more and to know about the law and a person right and to fight for the others rights that attracts me to pursue this course. The world of ciriculam and the real world of law are very different. In ciriculam you only learn the law and how will be it applies but in real world the court working is very diifernt. The area of improvement is not necessary it's good but in law college there should be a moot court which is absent in the college. The exam conducting authority disappointed allot. There is no specific shecdule for exam conducting.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There are some extra curricular activities which are worth mentioning. There are debate competitions, rangoli competition, speech competition, sports activities (of name only) and some other activities as well. There is nothing in the collage which prepares you for real world. There are no interships, there is no court visit, but they sometimes invite local judges and members of judiciary to guide students. Students do not attend classes because they know that there is nothing to learn there.

The syllabus is not updated often. We are only taught theories and not give the opportunity to have a practical experience. It is only in 5th year that we get skme excursions and moot courts. Other than that only subjects are taught for the sake of completing syllabus. Co-curricular activities are very rare
