Course Curriculum Overview
The course gives a great understanding of English literature and language. The course is well structured. The curriculum is more theory based and is not related to practical application much. The course can include subjects like content writing, blogging etc. There is formative assessments system so it is based on continuous evaluation pattern in the form of QTs, CTs, etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
For M.A. in English the fees per semester is 3150/-. The total fees is 12,600. It has slightly increased from the time I use to study. There is a scholarship for the students of reservation category. It is highly affordable for the quality education that it provides.
Campus Life
DEI is not much into clubs and fests. There is NSS camp for under graduate students. Other than that there is celebration on 15 August and 26 January. There is a wide range of books and journals in the library. Technology wise infrastructure is not updated. It needs lot of improvement. There are sports teams for different games one can join as per interest. There is no social clubs or activities.
Admission
I had a location barrier so applied only in DEI and got selected over there. It is one of the best colleges of our region. The admission forms typically opens in May and students can fill upto June. Then there is a list of shortlisted candidates that appear on the portal who are eligible for written and interview. After that final list is issued of the selected candidates.
Faculty
The faculty members are the real strength of DEI. They are highly knowledgeable, experienced and always ready to help even in free lectures. There assistance makes students stage ready and self reliant. The course is being taught rigoursly by them and classes are held on time everyday without any exception. The exam structure include internal and external component. Internal is of 50 mars and external is of 50 marks. Internal is further sub divided into written, class presentations, and home assignments (Dha).
Night Life
There is no concept of night life at DEI. If you wish to have simple and quality education at reasonable price then only consider DEI. The college does not compromise on quality education but does not promote modern lifestyle at all.
