Course Curriculum Overview

4

First of all the medical profession is very dicvine and can be used to save lives and help the mankind and reduce the suffering of the society. The curriculum and the course is pretty stressfull and difficult to handle tha academic and peraonal life .but keeping a balance can be helpful

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees is 25000 per year There is also e grantz scholorship for students who do not cross the income line I wasnt eligible for e grantz The union fee was 5000 rupees And thes mess fees here is 110 rupees per day in which you can take 10 days mess cut in a month The hostel fees for the year is 15000 which is free for sc and st students And also the mess fee are also free of cost for them

Campus Life

4

The functions are freshers day which is at next month of joining college then ethnic day , arts fest, sports meet, staff student night, other cultural programs like onam ,vishu, ifthar, christhmas and etc The books and articles in the library are vast and well available The class rooms are well equipped with good infrastructure Our college and the students union encourages sports very well though we have a minimum facility here for us There are two parties here sfi and independent which are mereley lead by students

Admission

I was first alloted to govt medical college kannur where there is severe ragging and the hostel was very pathetic and the atmosphere was very bad there.but here the atmosphere is very good and the campus and hostel are ragging free.and I couldn't make up to the higher colleges.the admission to this college is made through neet exam and the cut off to my college was 672 which was my score

Faculty

4

The faculties and the academics here are pretty good they actually care about the college's results and last batch had 100% pass percentage. They conduct three internals and 3 short exams for each subject and for writing university exam we should score atleast 50% in every internals . And the clinical exposure here is very good we are able to see every kind of cases here

Interview Experience

4

No there was no interview the admission was merely through entrance exam which had 180 questions in 720 marks each right anwers gives 4 marks and each wrong answer deducts 1 mark Neet is a highly competetive exam ehich is written by students around 25 lakhs and getting into a government medical college is pretty hard

Night Life

4

There is a nearby gym and also a college hostel gym which students use daily and well functional The curfew for the 1st year students are till 10:30 pm The night life is not that good in the college and nearby city but thats okay not that bad But in night there are many food spots and stuffs but the late night hangout spots are less

The academics are well scheduled here. The class strength is of 250 students. There are a lot of faculties to help you with the academics. The HOD of the aubject coordinates the academics of that subject. Internal exams are conducted regularly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course not due to the curriculum..i qlways dreamed of becoming a good doctor. The level.of satisfaction you get in this profession wont be anywhere else. The modernization of curriculum has stressed on the clinical aspects which i think is the core of medicine. We have been taken to bedside and taught to examine patients diagnose the case and interpret imaging. Also the skill lab clears the obstruction we face in a real life like we are being trained in BLS and ALS. Our junior batches are also taken to trivandrum medical college to see autopsy which in fact is a real opportunity. The course could improve in a way that apart from academics it must give importance to sports arts also which is not promoted in our college. Also revisions classes can be made effects by conducting small test papers chapter wise instead of taking chapters on repetition. Exams are almost done in an effective way. The course is actually very difficult compared to others. So much effort has to be put in from both students and Teacher's side.

I chose MBBS as it has been one of my dreams since my childhood and it's my parent's dream more than mine. Faculties teaching in the First year min qualification is a master of science in the particular subject and from the second year onwards the minimum qualification is MBBS for every faculty. Three exams per year and you have to pass any one exam to write in university exam and it's somewhat difficult to pass if you start studying at last

Remarks:

The hostel and college infrastructure are a little poor compared to other colleges but it is expected with the minimal fees given. There are a lot of festivals and programs and a healthy political atmosphere. The non violent conflicts between the two opposing parties lead to good development in the college.
