- The OS on the library computers need to be updated, windows 2007 is no more relevant.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is what you would expect a computer applications course work to be, however i feel there needs to some introduction to real world application, the applications used for coding might not be relevant outside but are important for beginners on our level, there should be a lectures dedicated to the applications of each subject.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are available for those that want them, the new NEP pattern introduces a need for internships, so hopefully there will be a lot more opptunities coming up for future batches. These are usually digital marketing, teaching internships at companies.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for placements in their third year, sixth sem. Companies like Wipro, TCS, iRobokid, Dalvik apps, Lodha visit the college. Most of my seniors did recieve placements this year. You need to clear any ATKTs from your first year to be eligible.
Fees and Financial Aid
The annual fees for first year was above 30000, out of which i had to pay about 28000 because of a merit concession i recieved for scoring above 75% in my 12th boards, I recieved a scholarship of about 16000 after that, There are other scholarships that students can avail as well, categorised based on income, merit, reservation. I also received a scholarship in my second year of 20000, there are also concessions available on exam fees and other charges as financial aid.
Campus Life
The annual college fest happens near the end of the academic year, in the month of January, I was a part of the core commitee this year, there are events, competitons and games organized on a intercollegiate level, Sports are always bustling with new activities, We have a rotaract club, We have out BCA department club, i am a part of that too. There is the interuniversity Youth Festival every year, with music, dance, theatre and fine arts competitions, students can go upto national levels.
Admission
There are not a lot of colleges offering BCA in mumbai, and other universities had annual fees of 2 lacs, While i did not have a problem with getting in by merit, the fees were a issue, P.N.doshi offers many financial aids for students with low income families.
Faculty
Faculties are very approchable, the interactions can be pretty fun if you manage to stay on the good side, nobody likes aunnncessary attitude. The faculty for our department are pretty friendly, everyone has their own charm and quirks. There are 2 internals and 2 sems each for every year. Most of the students make it, only the irregular ones stay behind but accomodations are made for them too. The department is very generous if you are willing to work hard.
Night Life
College closes down around 7 pm, The sports and cultural students may stay around during holidays for parctice. the locality is pretty safe and close to Ghatkopar railway station, lot of places to eat and hangout at nearby, no boys lingering around, our security is good with their work.
