What Students Say
Likes
- Campus Life is really amazing, it's very refreshing to walk around the parks and gardens after a busy day.
- The college chapel is really peaceful if you want an escape from the rush of assignments and attendance.
- You meet some of the most intellectual people here to befriend with.
Dislikes
- Some teachers are really very particular about discipline, any minor inconveniences could lead to them not giving attendance.
- The code of conduct sometimes feel suffocating, for every other thing you have to write a letter to HOD and get their signature.
- The college canteen and stationary are managed by people who are biased. They provide service to those who speak their native language then they will serve you.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is really relevant afterall it is ranked 4th in the country and you can actually get the value for your money. You get the confidence that you require to face interviews and eventually prepares you for the corporate world. Curriculum could actually use some more advance softwares to teach rather than languages that are very basic and have no real life implications. The frequency of exams are quite feasible and you have enough time to prepare for them.
Internships Opportunities
The internship opportunities are not much known to me as I'm still a first year. Although I know some average students getting paid internships all because of the help and support by the dedicated placement cell of the college. The faculty provides great support in preparing you a nice CV for your future endeavours.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placement in 3rd year. Many companies visit the campus, some of them are Amazon, Microsoft, Cognizant,Dell etc. The average package last year was 6.5LPA for BCA. The job profiles majorly are data analyst, software engineer etc. Personally, my plans are to aim for a higher package and time for developing more skills so I'll be pursuing masters too.
Fees and Financial Aid
The total fees I paid was 1.33LPA. The total tuition fees was 1.15L for one year then additional fees for being Non-Karnataka Student of 15k then 3k registration fee. My others friends didn't have to pay 15k who are permanent residents of the state. Scholarships are available from college in different slabs depending on how you score in the first year. You must have above 80% attendance throughout the first year.
Campus Life
There are two major events in college. Ethnic Day and College Day. Its a whole different vibe those days, somewhat like a whole festival. Sports are very much appreciated and the college hosts a grand sports day spanning one week known as KRIDOTSVA. The college has state-of-the-art library in each department with books of every genre. Whole campus has has wifi access and labs are equipped with latest technology. There is a lot of social groups and clubs in the college that keeps doing one of the other thing in some corner of college. Getting bored is the last thing you'll say here.
Admission
I applied to other colleges that had better rank than this one. I just had to appear for interview from a different college called Christ University but before that I got admission in this college so I settled for it. As it was more budget friendly. The admission process is really smooth you just have to fill up the admission form you'll have to join a zoom meeting to verify your documents and give interview teh voila! You're in KJC. The interview is pretty much easy you just need to be confident and have basic hands on experience of computer
Faculty
The faculty is quite knowledgeable, they know what they are teaching. No rubbish learning is imparted that could be of no use to us. The teachers are mostly available during college hours to solve doubts you just have to be patient enough because they will test it a lot. I really like my class teacher Dr. Yashoda Mam. She explains with such ease that even a 5 year old could learn how to program. Some of the teachers are really annoying and have ego issues. The exams are relatively easy and have proper intervals between them. The course curriculum is more or less relevant.
Night Life
The college has gym, yoga and meditation centre, two cafeterias and 4 libraries in each block. Evrything is really well maintained and clean. Gym is spacious and we'll equipped. Hostel is affordable and campus is available from 6am to 8pm. The surroundings have a lot of cool cafes and game zones to chill with friends. The locality is very safe for both male and female. You will feel secured and sound here.
