Remarks :

The fees are affordable and transportation and living cost is very low which is a positive. There are options to pay them in installments which is also a positive. Professors are somewhat okay. Libraries have all the reference books you need for studies so you never have to buy any books. The criticism would be not enough emphasis on practical knowledge and not having an updated syllabus, not enough learning opportunities other than syllabus.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Personally, I think course curriculum was not that great as most of the course material emphasized on theoretical stuff than practical knowledge. As computer science is field that is constantly evolving, it is extremely important that students learn about new technologies and for that updating the syllabus from time to time is truly critical and they genuinely need to do a better job with it.

Internships Opportunities :

No, The college nor the department provide internship or any such learning experience which honestly should be done. Neither did they present us with outside opportunities of internships or such. Its very important to have practical knowledge of things as a computer science student. The theoretical knowledge does not serve much purpose when you go out applying for jobs. In order to make their students capable, internships are something that can be done by college or at least they should persuade students to do them.

Placement Experience :

Before getting admission, I had heard from bunch of people that there are placement opportunities which was one of the main reasons I chose this college over the other. They also claimed to have such opportunities but in reality there were rarely any and even if there were they were always outside of campus not in the college.

College Events :

The college and the education society which it is associated with conduct few programs annually such as youth festivals and sometime such talent showcase festivals. Apart from this there are technical events arranged by the department with help of students every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fee structure differs from course to course. But I would say fee structure is feasible and not costly at all. For the BCS course it ranged between 15000-20000 in three years. For other non technical courses its even less than that. You could pay the fees in installments if it wasn't possible for you to pay at once.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I hadn't availed any scholarship or financial aid so I don't have much knowledge about it but I hear there are some scholarships and financial aids available for students who come from minority and there are also some merit based scholarships.

Campus Life :

There used to be sports competitions and talent festivals in the college along with the technical events. Students from the college were sent to inter-college sports competition. Talent fests involved everything from street plays to choreographed dances.Technical events had coding competitions, quizzes etc and they were good since students were involved in it. The department used to arrange "guest lectures" which most of the times were people who came to market their classes or institutes.

Hostel Facilities :

I haven't lived in hostel as my home was in the same city as my college but from whatever i have heard from my friends who used to live in the hostel. Hostel infrastructure and facilities are okay. They claimed to have wifi which they do but it isn't of any use since it provided little to no connectivity/speed. I reckon food there wasn't very great either as I always heard people complain about it.

Alumni/Alumna :

The networking was never encouraged. Once they had a former student come in and speak as a guest lecturer which honestly the only insightful lecture out of all arranged before that. So, probably if they did more of that and helped students connect with alumni who are working in different fields, students would have more exposure to learning and employment opportunities.

Exam Structure :

It was a semester pattern. Course is three years long that means there were six semesters and practical exams for each subject once at the end of the year along with oral or viva exams. There were external examiners for the practical and viva exams. So written exams for all the semesters and practical+viva before sem 2,4,6 i.e. at the end of the each academic year.

Admission :

After buying the prospectus, you had to fill in the form which is attached in the prospectus of college and submit it along with the documents mentioned in the form and later merit list was displayed and then you would pay the fees and get admitted to the course. Of course, I write this all in regards to my department(CS dept) but I'm sure the procedure for admission to other courses in the college does not differ much from this.

Faculty :

Again i can only speak this for my department, the faculty of the department was okay. Some people were knowledgeable and great teachers, some were knowledgeable but not very good at teaching.Regarding teaching, especially practicals and lab work, often students had hard time in labs and there wasn't anything being done or taught to boost the creativity of a student in coding/programming because of that students were always intimidated of practical exams. Lot of times, some of them were insulting of students for no apparent reason. but at the same time, they were encouraging of students who achieved something after they achieved whatever it was.

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for the placements after the 3rd year that is the 6th semester. Accenture, Amazon, Cognizant , FIS, Hitachi, Infosys, Lokmat, TCS, Tata communications, Tata Motors , Sakal , Toshiba, Vodafone , Wipro etc are among a few recruiters at DYPIU. Profiles for a BCA student can be Data Analyst, Software Engineer, Web Developer, Data Scientist etc. My plans after getting the degree is to join a reputed company as a web developer since my interest is in that field

There are 6 terms in my course. As per the new strategy, the odd terms will be based on the college level and the even terms will be on the university level... Due to covid my 1st year went on MCQ type but it was tough.

Placement Experience:

As I already mentioned campus placement facility is not good. Very few only 2-3 companies visits for placement and that is also not every year and you're eligible for placement in 3rd year of BCA, and only 4-5 students max to max only 7-8 students out of 60+ are placed with the package of 2LPA max. And talking my plans as I realized I made a mistake to graduate from HN I'm going to pursue masters and that is the only option else stay happy with 15k/ month

Placement Experience:

In my department, final year students are eligible for campus placements with no backlogs and a good score. A student should have at least 60% to get placed. We are lucky to have companies like Deloitte, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, and many more for our placements. It's not easy to get placed but college helps with aptitude, personality development and improves our English communication too.
