Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum was good and it was very helpful in gaining theoritical knowledge. Frequency of exams now is 2 times a year. Difficulty level is medium and with regular preparation, one can easily score good marks. Teaching methods are good and seminars are bring conducted. Regular tests are conducted.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are available for different departments. ...,........... It should be enquired from the college as they decide on it. Not so aware of it. There are lots of opportunities with the college so kindly check with the college on the internship.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for placement from 5th semester onwards. Average package is around 250000 and can go upto 400000. It all depends upon the company and the students performance. Around 24 percent students get placement
Fees and Financial Aid
I finished my B com from St Thomas College in 2004. There was a test to get the admission and post qualifying that admission was given under general quota. In 2001 the yearly fees was Rs.12000. Placement facility wasn't available then but now they have placement facility. It is a good college with knowledgeable faculty. I recommend to prefer this college.
Campus Life
As a whole the experience was good. There used to be lot of events but expected it to be more. Also the sports activities could have been more. Back then the social groups were almost very less. Now it is increased and it's running really good. All the activities are increased.
Admission
I took this college after hearing good reviews from my seniors. Admission process was quite easy. After clearing the selection test, had to submit all the necessary documents to get the admission. Eligibility to join in bcom is 12th pass with a min 60percent marks and have to clear the entrance test. Admission is based on the availability of the seats and the marks.
Faculty
Faculties were very easy to approach and they were friendly with the students. At the same time the decoram was maintained. Revathy and Sridevi mam. Revathy mam taught Accounts and Sridevi mam taught Law. Both of their teachings were top class. We could easily understand and it was easy to score. In 2001 it was yearly pattern of examination and post 2004 it was changed to 2 semesters per year. Exams were pretty normal. Not so difficult. It all depends upon one's preparation.
Interview Experience
Yes, there was a written test which included subjects like English, accounts, maths and general knowledge. Post clearing there was an interview with the department head and the Principal. I had actually not prepared anything separately but with my knowledge I could clear it.
Night Life
There is a Movie theater and a Mall close by. So students can hang around in those places. Hostels are many in a radius of say a kilometre and staying and food is not an issue. There are lots of restaurants which students can explore. During our college days, we used to go to bear by juice and snack shops which is near Koyambedu bus stand. Now things have changed a lot.
