Remarks :
There grading system is relative and you get CPI relative to the topper (like in IIT kanpur), as due to this grading gets lower if topper scores more marks. the college campus is also very big so we get tired while going from one department to another.
Course Curriculum Overview :
GREAT , I must say the syllabus they made was really awesome. There were no extra books like moral science, environment etc. as these subjects were of no importance to mechanical engineering.there were very focused and important subjects specially designed while keeping in mind for engineering services exams ( now syllabus for ESE is little changed but not for college). this was the most favorable thing for each student of the college.
Internships Opportunities :
No, college doesn't provides any internship. They will give you summer training letter and you have to complete 6 week training from any private or government institute. Thereafter, a report is made by the student which is to be presented by the student to the all faculties describing the whole summer training completed by student in 6 weeks.
Placement Experience :
Placement for mechanical engineering is not much good in even IITs also so, placement in mechanical is on an average as most of our colleagues prepares for GATE and IES and some have cracked also. So , I prefer if any body wants to prepare for PSUs any competition this is the best place and you will get sufficient time for preparation.
College Events :
There are two events that held in the college excluding freshers and farewell. these 2 events include technical fest., robotics workshops, dance and drama, competitions bot technical and entertaining. next event is cultural event which is done in the whole university and some celebrities and many colleges participates in this event and its a grand event if the year named 'SPANDAN'.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
this is the only factor due to which i did my engineering from this college. fees for a year is INR 54,543 in(2013) which in now increased to INR 68,500, which is also reasonable for a year as compared to other colleges.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Loan is provided by the banks in the campus. there are 2 banks Bank of Baroda and Union Bank and education Loan can be available easily as you will be student of the college. scholarship is not sure for anybody as it is provided by government and there is no interference of college in this.
Campus Life :
Normally workshops are organised by different IITs in out college campus and cultural and technical clubs also there who takes care of the events also. labs were very good. In mechanical workshop , there were around 20 lathes machines and all labs were well equipped and maintained.
Hostel Facilities :
hostel infrastructure was very Good or i can say it is the best part of the college and hostel. Infrastructure of college was also commendable. but the as we all know food was below the expectations but good think is that you will have better market place nearby and outside the also also, so nothing to worry about food.
Alumni/Alumna :
alumni network and seniors are very helpful. they will help you whenever you need. they helped me in Organizing a workshop and they are helping me at present also. Some of our alumni are pursuing P.hd. from IIT kanpur and they also helped you during out projects and avail us the facilities that we need from IIT kanpur for final projects.
Exam Structure :
Academic exams are held in the colleges and the copies are also checked by the teachers who taught in class. there is transparency as u will get your copies to check if any mistake is done while checking by the teacher. so, Itrs a very good thing there.
Admission :
This college was allotted to me in counselling of UPTU (now called AKTU). This college ranks good in the students quality. In my Mechanical branch opening rank was around 4000 which is much good for a stat government college. The closing rank for general candidates was 9000(in 2013)
Faculty :
Most faculties are IIT graduates, though they all are doing their P.hd. from IIT kanpur. Hence, They are appointed their as guest faculty. Their direction was a great experience for me. It helped my to understand how the life is going to be after college and this prepares me to welcome the difficulties that are going to come after college life. One of out faculty cracked IES 2016 (AIR_69)
