What Students Say
Likes
- Labs for a science student are as imp and I got that exposure
- Inhouse Internships should be applied prior to your interest of topic beforehand under a faculty.Your 2 years will go smoothly.
- Food outlets and canteens are operational at almost each block, so good won't be a problem here.
Dislikes
- Classes till 5 most of the days. Even if you have like a class from 10 and there's a break you have to sit for the rest if classes which are till 5 because of attendance.
- Attendance is very strict here. Maintaing 75 % is as important otherwise you will be debbared.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I had done B.Sc. in the same field and i haad interest in reasrch area so I chose Masters in Biotechnology. Curriculum really prepares you well once you know the concepts well and took your interest in Internships (they will help a lot) Timings of the exam are from either 10 a.m. to1 or 2 to 5. I like the later timings because it gives for time to study.
Placement Experience
Actually most of it depends on what you select in your second semester. So just make sure if you are really interested in placements then correctly filled it in your amizone. From Semester 4 you will be eligible for placements. Companies like Genetix, 365 medical asia, J& mitra etc will come. Don't fill your expectations with very high tech companies, they won't come, but these companies with a package of 4-5 lpa max will come. Till now from a class of 40 students, 15 students have been placed. I want to do a job but apparently after my Master's most of the companies coming are into sales, so I am giving interviews and let's see.
Fees and Financial Aid
So the first year fees was -108000 (including security fee of 2k will be returned after completion of course) 2nd yr- 88000 3rd year - 92500 4th year - 92500 Scholarships are available to those who scored more than 90 percent in their bachelors degree from wherever (even semester fee is off then ) only examination fee is to be paid. Lab work will be there but not individually instead in groups, so be ready for that. Moreover strict attendance system as well.
Campus Life
Initially in my department there you used to be a lot activities but with each semester they'll be less. Every Thursday there's something interesting that keeps on going you can participate in those quizzies and get a certificate. AYF is a special highlight in Jan Feb and everyone loves it sinces there are so many entertainment related things in it For sports there is Sangathan which happens every year. You can participate by getting selected in you favorite sport Facilities in the clg are nice and clean. No there's no student run social groups, if anyone is seeing doing it they will be given punishment and fine.
Admission
I didn't apply to other colleges for my master's because I was clear I had to go a private university. Admission process of this college is easy, all you have to do is first fill the form available from Google in the course you are interested. And after 2 days of it, you will get a mail for the microsite of it alongwith passwords and everything and then the Pls will guide you further and you will get a time table.
Faculty
Faculties are so many here for different subjects. Each semester you will see new faces and honestly most of them are helping. Dr Archana tiwari, Dr Riti kapoor, Dr Surbhi Sinha, Dr Nidhi Srivastava are some of the best and helping faculties. Exams are okayish, you need to study for certain exams like Biostatistics as they sometimes fail students otherwise concepts and everything is cleared during classes.
Night Life
There's a gym (you have to pay for it to access) Cafeterias in H block and in the library Each department now has it's own coffee machine, that's really nice. They are opened till 5 for students. Library is the best and my fav area of the campus, huge huge library and amazing seating. Famous hangout places outside is balli and all adjoining areas. Inside are h Block subway, dominos, CCD, a genral store and ground area. It's safe to roam around but not too far.
