Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is good. Our college is under GTU so it follows GTU's curriculum. Our curriculum consists of many labs, important theory, etc. ehich make one industry ready. The only suggestion is that they should iniclude even more labs so that we get some experience before doing anything professionally. Frequency of exams is also good.

Internships Opportunities

3

There are many companies which offers internship to students. But the stipend amount is not discloused. Many projects like drones, many softwares, etc. are made by students. I am in first year that is why I don't know much about it but I will edit this review once I get to know anything.

Placement Experience

3

Students are eligible for student placements in their last semester (8th). 50+ companies like einfochips, TCS, L&T, TatvaSoft, etc. comes here for recruitment and they made more than 240+ offers to students. Average package, highest package, percentage of students placed, etc. data is not available. My plan is to do M.Tech and getting a job in ISRO or DRDO as a scientist.

Fees and Financial Aid

I study in GEC Modasa and yearly fees for boys is ?1,500 and for girls it is free of cost. Some of my friends got TFWS so they dont have to pay any fees. You can also get other scholarship like MYSY. Lab fee and many fees are included in other fees of ?1,650 per semester. For complete course (4 years), fees is around ?19,000 to ?20,000 for boys. And for girls it is around ?13,000 (Travelling cost not included). Fees of this college is really low. This college is very affordable. If your family income is less than 8 Lakh per annum, then you can apply to MYSY scholarship. MYSY scholarship is for the people who has low income.

Campus Life

3

There are many tech festivals every year. There are many books and journals available in the library. Facilities like soldering ions, multimeters, oscilloscope are provided in the classroom. Facility for many sports like volleyball, cricket, etc. is there. There is no student-run social group or club as of now in my college.

Admission

I applies to SAL college, LJ University, GEC Gandhinagar, VGEC, etc. I didn't got admission in GEC Gandhinagar and VGEC beacuse my rank was low. And I got SAL and LJ university and GEC Modasa. I choose GEC Modasa because it was more affordable than SAL or LJ. Fees in SAL and LJ is around ?70,000 to ?80,000 per year. But feesin GEC Modasa is ?1,500 per year. You can get into GEC Modasa by GUJCET or JEE. I got admission from GUJCET score. Eligibility is more than 45% in 12th exam. GUJCET is preferred by most students. Cutoff is quite low so you can easily get in this college. Admission experience was really smooth. Once you get admission you just have to go to college, fill a form and you are done.

Faculty

4

In GEC Modasa, I don't know the faculty-to-student ratio but it is good enough. Faculty is great and they are easily approachable. They will answer every question and solve all of your dobut. You just need to ask them. If you don't ask then they will teach and go. But if you ask, they will solve your dobuts. I like almost all the faculties except one or two because all of them are good at teaching and are very knowledgable. They are friendly and they will not be angry on you if you ask dobuts. But some are not that friendly. There are two exams eveey semester. First one is Mid-Sem and other one is End-Sem. Mid sem exam is of 30 marks and End sem exam is of 70 marks. These exams are moderate on the scale of difficulty. Some questions are hard. In our college, many students don't clear exams just because they had not attended any lecture and they bunk lectures. If one attends lectures and asks dobuts, he/she can easily clear exam. Course is updated last year and it is quite relevent to industry standards.

Night Life

3

There is no gym in our college. We can go to cafes outside college to hang out. You cannot leave or enter hostel after 10 PM. Best place to roam around is college campus because it has many trees so it feels good around there.
