What Students Say

Likes

Best thing about this college is their knowledgeable and supporting faculty.
The infrastructure is good enough to meet the requirements of a medical student.
Campus is large enough but a lot is under construction. Still there's lot of place for outdoor activities.

Dislikes

The college has many of its units under construction which makes it a little annoying sometimes due to loud noises.
Also the locality of college is not satisfactory.
The food in the mess is not bearable. So we usually rely on canteen or other sources.

Course Curriculum Overview

We usually have 4 exams ..1st term 2nd term and pre university these are quarterly exams and a final university exam. Along with these our faculty also provide us with part completion tests and betterment exams.

Class Size: 100Course Fees: INR 24000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Internship is a compulsory job to do after our final year examinations . Since I m from the second batch of this college my senior have not yet given there final year examinations so I m not that known to the intership process and work . Also the stipend in whole or uttar pradesh is very less compared to other states .

Fees and Financial Aid

Uma nath singh Autonomous state medical college jaunpur offers an affordable education with the following fees structure. First year General / OBC : Rs.36000 SC/ST: Rs.27000 Second year onwards General/OBC: Rs.24000 SC/ST: Rs.15000 Hostel fees(boys and girls) : Rs.4800 per year Plus examination fees of Rs.13000 before every university exam. College provides scholarships under government schemes to all eligible students with special provision to OBC candidates.

Campus Life

We do have organised and recieved freshers party in our college. Also there were few sports events that took place in our college campus. It is fun to get involved in these events. Our lecture theatres are fully furnished and functional.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel rooms are spacious and ventilated . For boys they have a common washroom on each floor of hostel but for girls...we are lucky to have personal washroom attached to our rooms with a kitchen area too...the balcony is a place where you can chill when you get stressed .

Admission

To get admission in any government medical college you need to qualify NEET UG examination. Based on the rank in the exams candidates undergo a counselling process through which they are alloted a college. I was alloted jaunpur in my first round . I applied for an upgrade in college in my second round but couldn't qualify . So I was not left with any other option rather than choosing it because to take a drop year is not a very choice in my point of view

Faculty

We are the batch of 100 students with 3 subjects in first year 3 in second 2 in third and 11 subjects in final year . We have enough faculty in each department who are skilled and experienced. The faculty for anatomy , pathology ,and pharmacology department are very good as per my experience.

Night Life

Hostel timing are not always constant but usually they are till 8pm for girls and 10pm for boys everyday . But they change according to the situation and ofcourse our warden ma'am. There are very few places to hangout in jaunpur but varanasi which is just at 1 hr. Distance from jaunpur is our happy place to go to.

Uns asmc- making you a efficient clinician

Course Curriculum Overview:

Mbbs is very well reputed course. It makes you a well equipped indian medical graduate helping you aquire required medical skills to work in society as clinician. It really takes into account all the challeneges that one has to face in society as a clinician. The university exams are held on a yearly basis which include both theory and practical exams. The exams are good to pass if one studies daily. The syllabus is vast but with the help of seniors you can easily ace it.

HIMS Review

Course Curriculum Overview:

Current MBBS curriculum is purely clinical based and hence clinical postings are crucial. It is mandatory to attend them and strict actions are taken if you fail to do so. This curriculum prepares you for your NEETpg or NExT. Exams held are semester 1,2 and pre professionals and then professional. Timing 3 hours and difficulty level is okay. Mostly questions come from important topics.

Good college for becoming a professional doctor and excellent medical life

Course Curriculum Overview:

MBBS is one of the most respected courses in India so it was always a dream to become a doctor. Faculty is abundant in every department and there are 100 students in every batch with 8-10 faculty members in every department. The faculty in each department is at different position and post on the basis of their qualification and experience. There is one head of department in each department who is the most senior in terms of experience and their year of MBBS batch. Under HOD are two professors and under them two assistant professors. There are 3-4 junior residents in each department. The teaching method varies from professor to professor and some teachers are efficient in terms of their teaching way and helping students understand difficult topics. The course is extremely difficult with lots of stress due to never completing syllabus and diffucult testing exams. The exams are held regularly each month as every topic is completed. Passing in these exams is a bit difficult.

Placement Experience:

After the last sem that's is after 4.5 yrs the students become eligible for placements. We have to do 6 months internship in the hospital of the college. All the students are well paid and all students have good placement. After getting the degree I have a plan to open my own clinic.

The choice of college is not in your hands. Its based on councillimg carried out by UP DGME based on your NEET rank as its a Government medicak college. I applied in councilling for all the state govt medical colleges in uttar pradesh. The admission proccess begins after the college is alloted to you in neet councilling. You have to report to college in given time with all the required documents like your verification neet scorecard, allotment letter and DD of college fess in name of UPDGME. My nice college

I applied was delhi university also for bsc but I didn't went into the course because I was selected in neet UG so mbbs is better option than plain bsc so I choose the mbbs over the bsc but during my mbbs counselling also i choose other good medical College like Aiims but I didn't get admission in to them because I was not having that much rank and marks but I am to be in good institute in my post graduation....Read More

A Glimpse into UNS ASMC Jaunpur : A Comprehensive Review

So admission to my college is via NEET-UG exams in which 15% seats are for All India Counselling and 85% seats are reserved for State Counselling. The eligibility criteria is same as for NEET-UG and admission is via this exams only. There are no direct admissions and no management seat present. Cutoff in 2021 for open category was around 19000 rank. Cutoff now in year 2024 is around 26000 in last round from State Quota. Admission process is easy like every other government medical college of Uttar Pradesh. You have to report to the college as per scheduled by the Counselling bodies and submit your documents as given in the document list released every year. Then you can continue classes as per schedule. I was getting ASMC, Siddarthnagar but I chose this college over it because ASMC, Jaunpur has its own hospital building inside the campus whereas all other autonomous state medical colleges are attached to the District Hospital.
