Course Curriculum Overview

3

I was working a job around the time I took admission so that affected my decision the most because SAM Global University allows you to appear for exams and does not force you to attend the classes everyday. The university conducts mid-sem and end-sem exams twice a year each. And the exams generally get conducted for a period of 10 to 15 days. The level of course material is too low to be useful at any level so I think there is a lot of scope for improvement in the curriculum. Teachers should be better behaved and should maintain professionalism instead of using a rough tone and unprofessional language.

Internships Opportunities

1

Companies such as SBI Cards, Technotask, some of the startups come looking for candidates. The average internship stipend ranges from 5000-8000 per month. There aren't a lot many internship opportunities available to the students.

Placement Experience

3

The students become eligible to appear for placement starting 6th semester. The companies that come are usually looking for sales profiles including credit cards, and customer support executives and such. The average packages range from 3.5 to 5 LPA. 90% of the students get placements. I plan on pursuing MCA after this and would be joining a position at a bank after graduation while seeking out business opportunities.

Fees and Financial Aid

I've joined the B.Com course of the SAM Global University, Bhopal for the batch of 2022. The fees I've negotiated is 35,000. The examination charges being separate. In the first year, they charged everyone the annual bus fees irrespective of whether you avail their services or not. The reserved categories got some more relief in the fees and they get varying amounts of scholarship aid. The university at the moment is decent and they are trying to improve over the course of time. The commute is an issue since it's located in the far outskirts of the city of bhopal. The infrastructure is alright and the educational seriousness is not that great. If you're looking to acquire a degree, the college is alright but anything other than that would be wishful thinking. The student crowd is mostly from the rurals or the underdeveloped parts and therefore it could be quite an adjustment if you're trying to get along since the difference of mindset is quite steep.

Campus Life

3

The college has a good band that performs at various events throughout the city, and various cultural and sports events are organised through the year including but not limited to SAM-arth, SAM Saaz, etc. The library has a wide range of educational and literature books. The classrooms are average with basic infrastructure and a blackboard. The college has a computer lab with well equipped systems. The students take part in starting clubs for reading, music, singing, instruments etc. The college boasts a gym in the campus with a trainer and good equipments, a swimming pool might be in development.

Admission

I did not apply to any other colleges because I've been working in another city and let my parents help me out with the admission. I scored a decent score to be able to take admission in any A-tier college so I did not have any issues getting selected. And the admission process of my college was quite casual, I went in talked to them and they asked me for the documents and to pay the fees. There wasn't any particular exam required to get admission into the college so no cutoffs in particular.

Faculty

2

The faculty of the college are of various nature. Some of them are absolutely sweet yet others can make your blood boil. The female faculties are mostly rude and treat the students as if they're the ones paying for the student's expenses. I won't be revealing the name of faculties because that would be unfair to them. There are two kinds of exams, the mid sem and the end sem.

Night Life

1

The college is in the outskirts so no nightlife and does not have a hostel. It's next to a highway so there isn't much of a nightlife and considering the area, it would be recommended to not go exploring during the night. The college boasts a well equipped gym, a decent cafeteria with good food. There are some popular places nearby, such as the Mahadev Pani Dam, and Kankali mata mandir. The nearby places are beautiful and have plenty of natural sights.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Subjects are all theoretical, don't expect practical knowledge, syllabus for many subjects is very extensive and Faculty wont even complete the syllabus. You need to study most of things on your own. They would bombard you with 3 tests for internal assessment for each subject and sometimes they take it as suprise test and sometimes even test for 2 subjects might clash on the same day.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In 10th i got good percentage , but was not intereted that much in science , so i took up Commerce + Maths , then passed my 12th standard with 93% and i realized my decision was good. Then after 12th i had to do graduation so i choose B.com + Hon. As this seemed me the best option rather that BBA or any other. On an average , in my college , there were 40 - 50 students in each batch. There were different teachers for different subjects. There was not much mess and the teachers were enough to handle and teach all the students . Teachers in government colleges have years of experience , thats the reason many people get into these colleges , in my college too teachers were qualified and were ready to clear any doubt . We were having 2 semesters in the year , half - half course in both , these papers arent too difficult to pass if there was a proper study. I dont found these papers much difficult.
