What Students Say
Likes
- There are more numbers of girls as compared to boys you can say about 60 percent girls and 40 percent boys. The campus is beautiful and the professors are great along with the students too. Most of students get settled as teachers or professors.
- There are also well equipped labs and very enriched library and is hustle free and disciplined and the classes are regular. Apart it's far from student's politics unlike other universities. So person gets ample time for self study.
- Obviously one of the best parts is that it's placements and internships are very good and the exposure is also good. And the involvement of extra curricular activities adds to the overall growth of the students and helps to learn a lot.
Dislikes
- That in hostel your own parents aren't even allowed. And you can't get leave on the working days without your parents' permissions.
Course Curriculum Overview
Well the curriculum is so well managed and the internship will train you so well that you can easily get govt teaching job or get into masters programs. I would say that the base helped me a lot during my masters. Also the lab work was good thus helped me in my further lab work of masters. Also the unlike any other universities the teachers really focus on teaching and learning process of students. The externals are very difficult and tiring because they are continuous and we don't even get time to revise the whole syllabus. Also studying every unit is important because each unit has equally weightage so one can't skip units. And same applies for the practical examinations. The best thing is that the course give you BEd and BSc dual degree that too from NCERT based institute and now the institute is gonna be autonomous like IITs. The extra curricular activities are also plus point in the curriculum. Along with theses one have to choose one optional subject for work experience subject either agriculture or electronics for first two years. And in 2nd year there's a 10 day workshop called working with the community which helps to help and learn about the society and problems in society and how we an help people and solve them.
Internships Opportunities
The institute has total of 1 month internship in your third year where students have preinternship and are allotted local school in the city itself where the teach and learn like a normal teacher, it's a part of BEd program. And in the end a report is submitted about what you have learnt and done in the whole internship. Also professors visit you to check your work. And in 4th year students are sent to various JNVs in northern states in group of 4 to 9 where they stay in the residential school and handle the job like a teacher for 3 months and do the same as the normal teacher would do their job. They stay there and learn with kids and the permanent teacher staff teach interns how to slove and tackle the real life job related problems. Also in the end you have to submit lesson plans, report and TLMs . Also professors visit to check your work done by you and the feedback from other staff there. these internship hold marks thus one should do these with all their dedication. Also these internship help a lot in shaping one's ability to work and learn about the real life experience of the job they would be doing in future.
Placement Experience
The campus placement offers from 30-70k per month and from school like OP jindal, ajim premji school. But most of the students prefer masters or government jobs. A lot of us joined coaching institutes as they have very high package along with other facilities. Almost 50 percent of students got campus placement which is usually held after the final year internship. Most of them have one written and an interview round for selection and most of them are residential school thus offer you housing facilities too.
Fees and Financial Aid
Well the fee structure is divided into tuition fee and hostel fee, here the hostel fees include mess charges electricity charges and other charges (15k+35k). Some of the mess fees are refunded as per the number of days when mess is non functional. Those students who have good rank in entrance exams get scholarship irrespective of their family income or their category. The course is perfect as per the cost. The scholarship is is provided in end of the session. The placement are very good and are mostly in reputed institutes with good package. It is one of the oldest RIEs. Also the hostel facility is great. The college has its own society of various subjects. Each year inter rie competition are held along with conferences. Institute has its own courts and ground. Majority of students are from KVs or JNVs. The college has ana sagar lake in front and aravalis at the other side, making it one of the most beautiful campuses. Also its close to pushkar. The institute has is own medical dispensary. And has good train and bus connectivity.
Campus Life
The overall campus experience was great I was part of SMEC which organied various programs in field of science and mathematics. Also the sports and NCC are also there in college. The inter RIE competition helps for showcasing various cultural, atheletics and academic aspects of students which is held once a year where all RIEs assemble and the one with best performance takes the trophy. And all classes are equipped with smart boards and also there's a smart lab. The students clubs helps for extra curricular activities. The library is good and well equipped with books and lots of tables and has all day access to students. Here there are annual cultural and sport competition held near January or February.
Hostel Facilities
Each room is provided with one almirah, bed, table, chair, and a shelf per student, with a large common lawn, terrace and a common hall. The mess is common. The food is very good and includes breakfast evening snacks lunch and dinner and it's unlimited. Also has wifi facilities and cleanliness is maintained. None of our batchmates rented room or pg, Because the hostel are good enough from all point of view. There are enough hostel for all students to be accommodated. The electricity and water is totally free. In case anyone need pg then it's available in nearby locations. The cleaning staff is only responsible for cleaning of common areas you would have to clean your own room.
Admission
RIE conducts own entrance test consisting of reasoning ability, teaching aptitude and english and the seats are distributed as per the population of states with highest number of seats allotted to UP and rajasthan and the students need to apply as per the domicile state they belong to, anyone who have passed 12th can apply but the rank list is prepared on basis of 60% marks of entrance+40% marks of 12th. I applied for AU and BHU and got there admission but wanted an integrated course so that I can have a BEd done too that's why I chose this option and most of my teachers suggested for RIE because BEd was one the plus points from this institution. Also the course was worth evrything. Maybe other universities where I made were a brand but where I got it has a better success rate of students as per me. One thing that I got to know that in other universities you have to leave one or two subjects thus it narrows your option of choice of subject for masters but since here you have all those subjects till 4 year thus it's a plus point as per me you can apply for any subject for masters.
Faculty
The course structure you have to study all three subjects Chem, Bot, zoo and education in all 4 years. In 3rd and 4th year students have preinternship and intership of 1 and 3 months respectively where students are sent to JNVs for intership. The marking scheme is strict with 2 internals and one external of 30 and 70 marks in each paper of each subject. Academically 1&2 year are very hectic as per me with lots of syllabus. Also the internship and preinternship holds 300 and 100 marks so they have great importance. Also the syllabus is divided into 5 units in each paper. Education seems easier and can be scoring paper. Also the lab work is very extensive and detailed so there you would learn a lot and there is only one final practical which will decide final marks. As per me the course is so extensive that if one studies properly it's perfect for cracking any exam of graduation level. And thus mostly students score well after 4th year in national level exams like CUET, CTET and IIT-JAM without any extra efforts. Also there are a lot of students who go in armed forces through afcat and cds.
Night Life
There's a common open gym and a cafe inside the campus near library. The hostel Close at 9 and the main gate closes at 8 in night and opens 5 in morning. There's pushkar near by to roam around where every year in November a fair is held. A lot of us go for treaking on the hills in monsoons and winters. Also the lake are looks mesmerizing during sunrise and sunset and has pathway for cycling and walking. Also there's this famous dargah in Ajmer. And jaipur and Udaipur are the nearest tourist destinations. With kishgarh marble yard and jain temples where one can visit for photogenic beauty.
