Obgy OMC

My internship at osmania medical College made me understand that I will like obgy. Mbbs students will do 6 weeks of internship in obgy department. We will learn how to perform deliveries and do episiotomies and suture them. Pg in obgy from osmania will be good enough to face the real world but mainly we learn obstetrics. For gyneacology surgeries we have less exposure. We will get opportunity to assist in total abdominal hysterectomy in final year few times (around 2 to 3 times) Exam will be in final year and most of pgs will pass the exam

Postgraduation course won't have internship any where.For mbbs graduates 1 year of internship will be present. Postgraduation from osmania medical College will give you good enough reputation to secure job in private hospitals

College fee for md/ms obgy is 25000 per year At the time of admission for any pg course in omc ,you will have to pay 60,000 .(29600 -university fee and rest for college (CDS, academic development fund, e library fee etc.)

Coming to the social life in obgy department is very less.It is a hectic branch because of emergencies so, more or less u need to say good bye to your social life in pg course. Once in every year pg fest will be conducted for 3 days in which all the cultural programmes are conducted. Infrastructure of the college is not good enough. Hostel will be provided for obgy pg in the hospital it self.

Hostel for pg of obgy will be given in hospital itself. Or u can get hostel in college which is 10 min on scooty.in college hostel will be given only if rooms are left after giving for non clinical branches. Food in hostel is good Pay will be 3k per month but not much facilities are present.There will be a cot ,fan and shelf with bathroom

I also applied for Gandhi medical College,kakatiya medical College and esi medical College for obgy post graduation. I choose osmania as my first option because 1) we get many chances to do lscs than other colleges mentioned above as per my research of colleges. 2)i completed my mbbs from osmania,so Im well versed with the conditions of hospital. Then I opted for Gandhi as 2nd option because Gandhi medical College also has good amount of exposure and facilities are better than osmania medical College as it is new college in comparison to osmania. Gandhi medical College has advantage of getting high risk cases mainly.you will get privilage to various other cases in obstetrics.But the hands on is less than osmania. As a pg in surgical branch we need to have more hands on than exposure to high risk cases. I didn't opted for any other college because all I want is to do obgy from osmania medical College To join the college,you need to attend neet pg exam conducted every year once.For securing obgy pg seat in osmania your rank should be 3k to 6k .

There will be 6 units and each unit has 1 assistant professor 1 associate professor. Teaching faculty are good. But sometimes faculty give us hard time if we are not good at work. In 3rd year ,we have to give one theory and practical exam.Most of students will pass ,but sometimes externals are very strict and may fail few like 3 to 4

The hospital will be in petlaburz Hyderabad near high court and charminar.There will be many places to hang out in Hyderabad. Library will be present in college which is present in koti 10 min from hospital. Hostel will be present in hospital itself Near by restaurants are grand blue sea in which food is good enough. Charminar is 10 min from hospital,area will be crowded and not much safe at night.
