Course Curriculum Overview

4

This course is about being a doctor so all its aspects focuses on becoming a good doctor . All the things about the curriculum focuses on it. Real world experiences are the best teachers when coming to this career. But our curriculum includes many teaching methods apart from the experiences and makes students know about the scenarios and what to do and to not to in dillematic situations . Emergency procedures are thought which can be done by any common man and other procedures as well. Teaching methods are good only but can be improved by including more clinical exposure and involving the students to know the importance of each subject even the non clinical ones . Exams are put on frequently smaller and bigger ones . Internal exams are conducted frequently. Exams conducted by college varies on difficulty and any student can be a topper depending on how he/she studies Accordingly on perfect timing .

Fees and Financial Aid

Year wise fees are given according to the government rules as per the site . Fees increases per year, a fixed amount is increased . Fee paid is almost close to 8.86 lakhs for an year including hostel and special fees . This is for 2022 batch . So per year fee keeps on increasing by govt rules . Economical categories can get some availance accordingly. They can show the economically backward status and get fee remittance.

Campus Life

3

Overall campus life experience is mid as it is a tedious course and there is lots and lots to study and work on to improve our skills. But there is union and programs conducted in our college for student participation and good ambience is created . infrastructure provided is appropriate and needed for this college for these much students . Photos and details can be searched in internet.arts and sports fest is conducted including onam independence day republic day Holi every possible events are atleast tried to be conducted maximum by the student union as it is the only way to escape from the tedious tension of the course. It is a chill minded ambience .library is biggg it has lots of books and journals which a bookworm would actually loveee. library is air conditioned and well seated . Classrooms are called lecture halls which are big enough to accomodate all the students and professors teach through mic and speaker all around the classroom . Classrooms are not air conditioned Other essential facilities are there provided Sports and extra caricicular activities are well supported and sports day is conducted and various football cricket volleyball matches between batches are conducted and selected for the college team also Many clubs are there in our college including movie photograohy drama literature dance music everythinggg. They show a powerful impact on the students a s they help bring out hidden talents and take off the tension from their shoulders and make them artistically well too.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facility consists of many workers and warden to control boys and girls hostel seperately headed by the two vice principals each acting as the main head wardens. Each Hostel has one resident warden too who stays all the time at the hostel for any assistance. And other staffs for mess and other departments. Cleaning staff is good and cleans twice a week. I am talking about the boys hostel which almost similar to girls one but girls one are a little bit better . Our room contains 3 table 3 chairs beds cupboards and wardrobes perfect for 3 students to accomodate Meal quality is ok not very good but ok at this price provided no health problems has occured Hostel registration occurs at the day of admission itself. It is easy and faculties guide u through it . Fans and light provided are good and well maintained. Any complaints can be registered to be look upon by the maintaining team of the hostel.

Admission

I got selected to this college by admission procedures by allotment list given by me during the admission time. List of colleges to be provided and college given to each student accordingly by availability and by marks and reservations. Other colleges are no different from this college than some things such as freedom of roaming around campus at night or having to use vehicles freely without permissions to park. Admission in this college is solely by the neet exam marks . So after the results after 12th student can write the neet exams and give allotment list to the site accordingly by their favourite list of colleges on an order . So from certain number of allotment rounds , student gets admitted on to a college finally and gets to study there. Fees varies according to colleges by 1-1.5 lakhs .Govt colleges are preferably better cuz of their low fee structure and quality of experience gained . Teaching better in pvt colleges I applied for many colleges in Kerala or including govt ones and got this during second allotment . First I got admitted to snims college ernakulam . Also the cutoffs for neet keeps on increasing per year as students are studying as year goes. All the details regarding mark cutoffs are available as many videos in internet . Overall admission experience was good and unexpected as we pray and sit to get a college.

Faculty

4

Faculty members are good and they try their level best . Course Structure includes 4.5 years of studying theory and clinics in the college and a year of internship at the hospital . Exams are conducted by kuhs located at thrissur, kerala. They conduct exams for almost all the govt colleges and the affiliated pvt colleges . Marking scheme is under 100 marks and pass marks keep on changing by new rules . Now it is 40 60 rule which is given clearly on kuhs site. Theory and practical marks including internals and attendance is necessary for passing exams. Exams are a bit on the tough side as it is mbbs and not any normal course. Faculties are all trying best and no one is to be disliked except the older faculties having anger issues which is ok .

Night Life

2

College closes around 7 because of the library.girls hostel closes by 6 pm and boys hostel by 6 , 7 and 9 pm for different batches . Hence night life is shit in this college . But boys get permission to go watch movies or to eat food at night by getting prior permission from main warden of the hostel by calling him. Gym is available for boys . Cafeteria is 24/7 as the hospital is there . Hangout spots are the cafes and cafeterias around our college at evenings and the ground and the quadrangle at the center of our college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course not due to the curriculum..i qlways dreamed of becoming a good doctor. The level.of satisfaction you get in this profession wont be anywhere else. The modernization of curriculum has stressed on the clinical aspects which i think is the core of medicine. We have been taken to bedside and taught to examine patients diagnose the case and interpret imaging. Also the skill lab clears the obstruction we face in a real life like we are being trained in BLS and ALS. Our junior batches are also taken to trivandrum medical college to see autopsy which in fact is a real opportunity. The course could improve in a way that apart from academics it must give importance to sports arts also which is not promoted in our college. Also revisions classes can be made effects by conducting small test papers chapter wise instead of taking chapters on repetition. Exams are almost done in an effective way. The course is actually very difficult compared to others. So much effort has to be put in from both students and Teacher's side.

I chose MBBS as it has been one of my dreams since my childhood and it's my parent's dream more than mine. Faculties teaching in the First year min qualification is a master of science in the particular subject and from the second year onwards the minimum qualification is MBBS for every faculty. Three exams per year and you have to pass any one exam to write in university exam and it's somewhat difficult to pass if you start studying at last

Remarks:

The hostel and college infrastructure are a little poor compared to other colleges but it is expected with the minimal fees given. There are a lot of festivals and programs and a healthy political atmosphere. The non violent conflicts between the two opposing parties lead to good development in the college.
