Dislikes

  • Discipline is too much of a nuisance here. It is like going back to school, sit quiet or attendance will not be marked but with time it also gets cool.
  • Packed schedule. Your time will be fully packed other than moving for lectures and lunch time.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Well I've chosen Artificial intelligence and data science. I'm particularly interested in this field as for data science. I'm in 1st sem so I can't tell if teaching it top notch in course or not since in 1st sem you are required to study all subjects.

Fees and Financial Aid :

The yearly fees that you'll be paying in 1st year is 148900 excluding hostel fees. I don't know about hostel fees as I didn't opt in for hostel. From second year onwards there is no hostel facility for boys and you have to stay out in city, the college will provide bus facility. It is compulsory to take bus facility and it's fees is ?16500 yearly. Tution fees per semester is ?59700 and other fees includes ?4500. Other than that scholarship of MP govt. is applicable and other private scholarships are also applicable. The university is RGPV so you will be required to pay some amount for registration of examination each semester.

Campus Life :

Religious festivals like navratri is celebrated and garba organisation is done. Although no other functions are yet close, they do organise some functions for students. About library, it has mostly coding books and then for management course. No technology in classes except a white board with marker atleast as far as I know. Sports and extra curricular things are offered from 2nd year onwards. Though clubs do share interest in fresher and include them in activities which are generally on weekends. Many clubs are there and mostly are student run so they do focus on overall improvement.

Admission :

I've applied for lots of govt colleges and private colleges out of my state. For the govt colleges I was not eligible as my percentile in JEE were low and for private colleges they were charging very high and we're very far. This made me choose this college. I'm however not sad about the decision I've made as it was me all along who made this decision so I think I've done a good job. For eligibility criteria in my college, you have 2 ways either you give JEE Mains or you apply from 10+2. Cutoff varies every year differently so I can not confirm it for you although I've got 87.3 percentile in JEE Mains and got AI course, so you can guess it. Admission experience is not too smooth but not too bad either. You will be directed to a admission center where you'll fill out all the details and documents and then you'll be sent to pay the fees. That's it.

Faculty :

The faculty to student ratio is good but it is variable for each semester as the teaching system is a little different here. Faculties are pretty chill most of the time and are approachable any time in college hours and 2 hours after college hours. I won't name any faculty but the 1st semester mechanical engineering teacher is chill with all type of nuisance and jokes however he may get serious sometimes. For worst faculty we have the computer engineering sir, he just boasts about his achievements, which are none, and don't teach the way it is meant to be. He makes it difficult for students to understand and targets those who already know what is going on. Each semester there are three exams, 1st mid sem then 2nd mid sem and then final end sem. For mid sem you have choice to give anyone of them, best of two will be considered and for end sem it is the only chance. About the course curriculum, it is ittle outdated in RGPV university as whole. Teaching 20 year old methods which aren't in use anymore.

Night Life :

About the nightlife and other campus aspects I can't say much as I don't live inside campus but it is a decent sized campus with 2 sitting areas for cafes and other stuff. Library and gym is also there but I don't know what are the timings. For hanging out inside college you've got the famous center of the college canteen. For outside the college, you're in Bhopal city so you know where to roam.

Placement Experience:

As we are into our third year and our training is on so that's why we get chance only in the final year. It hardly matters though as placements are high and by high not just in terms of high number of students but high packages too.

Siemens, Havells, and other electric companies that deals in electrical applications and appliances are invited by our college. This is because the college has a form belief that a student should contribute in its core sector company.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is completely irreleveant to the industry and course curriculum is really bad Curriculum does not prepare me for real world applications, whatever i have learnt, i have learnt from myself and from courses. Course curriculum can be improved by including latest tech and not by teaching students about 50 yr old syllabus. Instead of exams there should be assignments and project submissions which really makes the student ready for real world and real life opportunities. There are two mid sems in each semester alogn with one final sem written exam and also internal and external viva in which all questions are repeatative.
