SCMC- A WHOLE OTHER UNIVERSE

Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum helps the individual prepare for the real world in an advanced manner so as the individual won't face as many problems as compare to others, while entering into the world, full of corporate jobs. When it comes to journalism, there are six semesters in total and extra credit for the minor and major internships that one individual does, and for a semester one major or two minor internships are a compulsion or instead of an internship. There can be certain voluntary participations

Internships Opportunities :

The internships are provided on monthly basis. In the starting one had to do an internship which was for the non-profit organisation, and after that, we can voluntarily move into anything we like. The internships had to remain brief since it would hamper the semester later on.

Placement Experience :

The college during the admission guarantees hundred percent placement on just one condition that the student must not have a backlog in the last semester, which is the sixth one, and this no one from my batch is left unemployed or hazard been offered a placement

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The yearly fee paid was six lakh. The college offers a really interactive course, which includes 70% practical application and 30% theory knowledge. The assignments for every subject are basically practical itself which are coded into a very fun way, and the faculty tries to keep every assignment high scoring.

Campus Life :

The campus itself is a whole new world to explore along with the city of Pune that helps to know about the various archaeological as well as ancient things built in Pune. The accommodations provided by the college is itself, a wonderful thing and the environment inside them is too good to be. true

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel facility along with the wardens, and the keepers is way too good. The mess which was responsible for our food was the most hygienic place I have ever seen in a hostel and the needs of every student were kept in mind it whatever.

Admission :

The college was chosen above all other colleges because it is ranked as the number one college when it comes to bachelors in media and journalism. Hence the best option should always be chosen about the ones which were below. It were also not that bad, but one always prefer to choose the best out of the all

Faculty :

The faculty members tried to have a personal connection with every individual so as to make them comfortable in their academics as well as extracurriculars. The faculty usually found out innovative ideas to teach the students in a way that they may never forget once the concept is.taught

Interview Experience :

There was a written test which was conducted during the admission and it was about an essay of 3000 words which we had to write on a random topic in a given slot of time. Then there was a personal interview conducted and at the end, it was the document verification for all.

Night Life :

The night life in the college was experienced during certain phase itself, the fest which were conducted carried on till late night, such as Bollywood nights, dandiya nights and New Year. The nightlife inside the college campus is very safe and sound.

Placement Experience:

The students join in large numbers in this college because of better placements only. They are aware of the same before admission. There is a placement cell called CGPC on the campus which consists of students from the final year. They take care of the students' placement needs. There are many companies like BAIF, Pradan, Kudumbshree, Rajivika, Bihar SRLM, MP SRLS, ORMAS, OLM, Antra, APF, etc. 100% of students get placed from all the courses. Some students of SIE go for establishing their own business enterprise and they do not sit for placements, some want to go for higher studies. Those who wish to get a job all get a job.

Remarks:

Symbiosis School of International Studies, in short, was the biggest mistake of my life. It's not worth spending 5 lakhs. I've heard that they increase the fees by 10% every year. Apart from the hostel which is managed by Symbiosis International (Deemed) University, nothing provided by the college is worth the money. The health centre is even worse. They don't check the patients on time. The medicines prescribed are either too strong or ineffective.

There's nothing much to complain about the college. It is optimised in its own way. The placements should be increased and the college must work on it.
