- The Infrastructure of the college is good and very well maintained,well equipped labs, ac equipped classroomswell maintained libraries, well maintained sports ground and equipments, in campus canteen facility and free wifi facility in whole campus.
- Very Supportive and experienced facility, many of faculties are PhD holders which increase there credibility
Dislikes
- The placement of the college is average and in core branches like mechanical, civil etc placement are very bad , internship facilities are very limited provided by the college
- Syallabus is very outdated, lack of research facilities, college have very average computer but manageable,
Course Curriculum Overview :
In first semester the subjects are irrelevant to the course like we have subjects likes maths, electronics, chemistry,mechanics and english in these subjects only maths is relevant to the course and english for the personality and communication development which is needed but we didn't have any coding subject which is relevant to our course but in second semester they add one coding subject and after we move further on other semester(3,4,etc) subjects of coding related increases so we can say that whole course is not irrelevant but some subjects of some semester is irrelevant. In course the focus is more in theory than practical so in this area improvement is very much needed but college and technical clubs organise events in which real industry people come to give us knowledge about real world situation in IT sector ,how we can grow in this competative world and it very insightful for us and they also organise hackathons occassionally which is very useful to us. The frequency of exam is seasonal (esay to moderate)in every 1.5 months and semesters(moderate )in 5 month and it is very good amount of time for the preparation of exams and it is very easily manageable for us .
Internships Opportunities :
After completing 2nd semester college provides there own internship in which we have to make some mini project and submit to our HODs but in return we don't get stipend instead of stipend they we will give us credits which useful for completing our degree. Many students in college try internship by there own there is not very major role of college,like many students get internship in GSoC, GitHub internship program,etc by there own hardwork and I don't know the exact stipend of the students and job roles because I am currently in first year so I am unable to collect that data , but ya In many students doing internship during vaccination by there own hardwork and skills.
Placement Experience :
Students after completing 6th semester they are eligible for the pre placement and after completing the 7th semester they are eligible for the campus placements.The total companies comes for campus placement is 117 (in 2023) for BTECH students and the major companies in campus placement are Cognizant , Newgen ,TCS ,Mindtree, Accenture,etc . The total offer given by the 117 companies are 805 offers. The average package(in 2023) of GECT is 5 lpa and the highest packages(in 2023) are 45 lpa(off-campus) and 10 lpa (in campus). Around 90% students are placed in campus placement.I am currently in first year so my plans after the degree is not prepared because I am exploring different fields and skills and finding my interest in it.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The total feas for a year is 1,15,603rs, in which 1,09,603rs is tuition fees , 5000rs is security deposit (refundable) and 1000rs is application fee and there is additional 7500rs for both the semester 1 and 2 taken AKTU University which is not included in fees.For the several years fees is not increasing it had been constant. There are some scholarship in college like UP Government Scholarship which is provided by UP Government for 1 to 4 year students of amount 60,000 to 1,00,000rs (varies for different categories) ,one is AKTU University Scholarship which is provided by aktu university it also for 1 to 4 year students of amount 30,000 to 40,000 and some private scholarship also provided by college , which is provided by some private companies which is merit cum based scholarship or luck draw scholarship. If you have very good score in jee exam then you can avail FW(Fee waiver) seat which is provided during counselling process,in FW seat student's the tution fees is waived only additional charges and exam fee (7500rs) only have to pay by students.
Campus Life :
The biggest Cultural fest of GCET is Unifest and the biggest Technical fest is TechnoJam and both held around between March and April. The library facilities in campus is very good and the library is very well maintained and they have very varied ranges of books and in very good amount of also for the course related subjecta and it is very easily accessible and issuable for us . College have also have CAD labs for coding and also have well maintained for other subjects too with proper equipment. During first year they use simple white board but after first year they use projector and normal board both in classroom and every classroom have Two AC in it. In college we have well sports ground and equipments for sports like cricket, volleyball, basketball, kabaddi, badminton, table tennis are there. There are total around 25 active both technical and non technical clubs present in college they organise many cultural and technical events in college to showcase our talents. College also have a dedicated student portal for checking there attendance, fees information, notices ,etc.
Admission :
I had given an exam called JEE after that exam you can apply for UPTAC Counselling through which you can take admission in the colleges of Uttar Pradesh both government and private colleges. According to your jee mains score you can make preference list of colleges and according to your score the best college from your preference list (means that you cleared the cutoff of that college) allotted to you of preferred branch according to your score. I choose Galgotia College Of Engineering And Technology(GCET)over other colleges so the first reason is that it's best college according to my score, second GCET have many active technical and non technical clubs which helps us to improve our personality and gives us opportunity to explore different fields which we have interest in. Third is the overall placement is good according to the other colleges in noida . Four is that they have very good environment in college not very hectic which help us to try different stuffs other than studies which makes different from other colleges. Fifth is that they have very good faculties in college.
Faculty :
The faculty to student ratio is 1:70 which is ok . Many faculties are highly educated and some of are PhD holders and also published many research papers which increase there credibility. Faculties are approachable and they make very sweet relationship with students and some of faculties members provided there personal WhatsApp number for after college doubts but there are some teachers which have poor skills of teaching (they can't explain the topic in easy manner which is understandable to the students)but they are very less. We have one teacher Amit Pandey sir which teaches us Electronics subject he is very good teacher,he explains the in very easy manner which is understandable by a average students also,he is very supportive,he also provide his engeneering experience to us which helps us in future in our course and he is very easily approachable.We have 6 seasonals exams (3 per semester) and two (mid sem and end sem) semester exam. Seasonals are easy to moderate but very helpful for the preparation of semester exam and semester exams are moderate but varies to student to student. Passing ratio of seasonals are 95-98% and of semester is 80-85%.
Interview Experience :
No there is Group discussion, Interview or written test for the admission you have to just go through the UPTAC Counselling process and after getting an confirm seat you have to pay a token amount of 20000rs ( Which will deduct from the college fees) for confirming the seat and after few weeks you have to go physical reporting in the college in which you got your seat and then you have to submit your documents for verification and after verification and submission of your documents and in last you have to pay your total fees ( token amount will be deduct from total fees) and then your admission is done .
Night Life :
There is a common gym in both boys and girls campus hostel which is very well equipped with gym equipment. There is one central Library in campus which is easily accessible for everyone in college. There are around 5 to 6 different cafes and one canteen in college campus and many street vendors outside the main gate of college. The public area clossing off time is around 8pm and the hostel closing off time is 10 pm for boys and 9:30 pm for girls. The famous hangout place near college is The Grand Venice Mall, MSX mall , City park, Bako Yaar Lounge, etc and it is very safe to roam around at night around 12 to 1 am .
