Course Curriculum Overview

3

Curriculum is overall fine but it does not prepare us for real world situation. It is only limited to the classroom and exams. BA subjects are chosen by the college itself and we did not get to choose subjects according to our will and hence stuck with the subjects for three year. College controls all the subjects that students will be studying and choose according to their will. If students could choose the subjects it would be better and the teacher's use more relevant topics that will be needed for law then just anything. Mid terms happen around October every odd semester. 2 subjects in a day. One morning shift and one day shift. End terms happen around December. One paper each day. For even semester mid terms happen around March and end terms around may. We get 1 hour for mid terms and 2.5 hours end term. Exams are not very difficult and you have to be really dumb to fail.

Internships Opportunities

2

There's minimal intership opportunity provided by the college. Only few students are provided with interships. College encourages students to intern in the summer break and submit the certificate of the intership as a record.

Placement Experience

3

Students of final years become eligible for campus placement. The highest package was 50 lakhs and average is of around 3-5 lakhs. Most of the students opt or litigation or judiciary but those who opt for corporate placement have been placed at good places. I have not decided what I'll opt for yet.

Fees and Financial Aid

I pay 1310000 per semester and approx 300000 yearly. Fees is increasing every year by 5-10% . Uttarakhand domicile students get 5% scholarship. Sports scholarship is available for national and international players upto 100%. Girls scholarship is available upto some amount.

Campus Life

3

There's one Yuva fest that happens annually for 3 days. This year Neha Kakkar was the main guest along with a Russian dj and local bands entertaining the students. First day was ethnic day, second was dj night and the third day Neha Kakkar had a live performance along with rohanpreet singh . This college have a wide collection and a dream library for law students. All the records journals and books are easily available for students. The classroom is mostly board and marker kind with almost no technology available. Sports events happens 2-3 times a year. The college encourages students for sports. Various socities like debating society, moot court society, youth parliament society, cultural society, Rotaract, legal aid centre, pro bono, literary committee etc.

Admission

I got selected for NLU assam through clat but couldn't go there because of person reasons. Then I applied to Upes and my college and got accepted in both on basis of merit. I chose this college because the discipline was remarkable, the placement was very good and they have a curriculum planned in such a way that it is helpful for judiciary. This college have large list of judges in various parts of India and students placed at very good places. The building and campus is very beautiful and various socities different for various activities. No I did not get rejection from any college I applied to. The reputation and success rate of this college was better than the other private colleges I applied to. Students who have cleared their 12th are eligible for the 5 year course and for 3 year course the student must be graduate. There are various modes of admission like clat scores , 12th scores and entrance test. The most preferred mode is 12th exams marks. The overall admission experience is very easy and the counsellors are very helping and friendly.

Faculty

3

Some faculties are very friendly but some are hard to approach. In my one year experience the facilities are good but only some are up to the mark. Some have thorough knowledge of the subject that they have all the articles memorised and there are few faculties who just reads from the slides and translate. There are one mid term and one end term per sem. Mid term is for 30 marks and end term is for 60. Rest 10 marks is for assignment and attendance. Exams are moderate and not very hard. Most of the students clear the exam and only some fail to do so.

Night Life

2

There is no night life for girl student since hostel locks up at 6:30pm. Boys hostel stays open till 9pm. There's a college gym and cafeteria till 9pm. There's one bakehouse, one Nescafe open area and one food court along with one tuck shop and one cafe.

The college placement here is average and according to me if a student is initially getting salary of 30-40k in company so it's good and it's also based on what extra skill you have other than studying books like contract drafting, etc... and internships also plays an important role in placement and also there is placement committee too
