  • Due to small campus events organised here do not meet the expectations of any student and specially freshers.
  • Boat club here is the worst boat club you will see in any college because it's just a 3 feet deep circular tank with no water in it

Course Curriculum Overview :

I would say the course curriculum is quite updated as the notes are in the form of PPTs which keep changing every 2 to 3 years also the PPTs are prepared by the person who has the best knowledge in that field. Talking about the curriculum preparing you for real-world applications I would agree with this statement as each faculty will guide you throughout the semester regarding your CPs and they give all the resources and documentation you want from the college side if your CP is accepted for sponsorship. The difficulty level of exams is moderate and there are mid-sem assessments and end-sem assessments for each sem with 3 to 4 written papers, 1 or 2 lab exams and CP and Viva for every subject.

Internships Opportunities :

There are many companies like Goldman Sachs, Nvidia, and etc those are providing internships with roles of Data scientists, Web developers, Software Engineers and etc. The projects are of kept disclosed by the college and companies as NDA is signed by the students and college.

Placement Experience :

Students become eligible to sit for placements from 5th semester onwards. Many companies visit the campus with some big names such as Goldman Sachs, Nvidia and etc. Last year a total of 239 companies visited the campus and the average package around 7.5lpa with 51lpa being the highest package offered by Nvidia. After the degree I will also ppt for placements and may later try for MBA after taking 3 to 4 years of experience in the job.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I got admission through 2nd ACAP round of the college and for each ACAP round there was a 1000 registration fee and there wasn't any fee concession for category students if they took admission through ACAP round in VIT and my yearly fee was 193000, excluding 2000? paid for 2 ACAP rounds.

Campus Life :

There are 3 major annual events Vishwa- Techspectra, Vishwa Karandak and Vishwotsav held in September, March and April respectively, where Vishwa- Techspectra being the technical event and Karandak being the most loved and happening event. There is a huge variety of books available in the library and all of them are very easily accessible with some being a very quality books. The classrooms here are very basic with some low quality projectors and blackboards but the lab are are well equipped with every equipment which is necessary for every student with any branch. There are clubs like Social Welfare and Development club, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad Club and Abhivruddhi that are student run social clubs to make students aware of social problems and make them a part of the community that is helping the people and our nation.

Admission :

I did applied for COEP, VJTI, SPIT, PICT, DJ Sanghvi, VIT, KJ Somaiya, Ramdeobaba College Nagpur and PCCOE in order respectively during the CAP rounds. And I got KJ Somaiya IT course in the first CAP rounds and then no change in any other CAP round was observed in my allotment. I would have loved to go to COEP or VJTI but I also wanted tech branches which have higher cutoofs and hence could not make into these colleges. I got VIT in ACAP round of VIT where I got IT branch in the first round and CE in the second round. Vit accept the students through both MHTCET score and JEE Mains score I got admitted through Jee mains with 96.01 percentile in JEE mains and a rank between 44k and 45k. I didn't got VIT in CAP round because for CAP rounds cutoff for these branches was quite high which was close to 97 percentile for jee mains in the third CAP round. My overall admission was quite smooth as compared to other students who got admitted through MHTCET scores because some student have to wait in college for almost 24 to 26 hrs to take the admission and the admission process is carried out day and night for the 2nd ACAP round hence it is quite hectic for MHTCET students whereas for Jee mains students it not that hectic because there admission is done within 3-4 hrs during the daytime.

Faculty :

Faculties in VIT are well qualified they are constantly forcing you throughout the semester to focus more on CPs (course project) and presentation as Vit is an autonomous college it focuses majorly on overall development of students through practical use of the concepts more than judging them on the basis there theory papers purely. There are faculties like prof. Dr. Vijay Gaikwad those will constantly push and back you to make your CPs standout also they guide you to approach the industries to sponsor your project. Also there are faculties like Prof. Ranjeetsingh Suryawanshi who will threaten you to maintain your attendance and judge you on the basis of your attendance as 75% attendance is mandatory in VIT. But as the CPs, Viva, presentation, lab exams hold a lot of weight your failure rate on the basis of theory paper purely is extremely hard. Still there are very few students like 5 to 7 in a batch who get failed.

Night Life :

There is a gym, 3 canteens, a library and most loved places to chill out are Mech stairs and Vit Main Canteen, also outside the campus there is Kalubai Garden which is also loved by the students to hangout. There is no hostel owned by the college but the campus in timings are from 6 am to 6 pm during a regular day and 5 am to 9 pm during the events. The locality is quite safe because the area near by the college is mostly filled with college students and it doesn't feel like you are alone even at night as students are roaming free in night too

Students become eligible for placement from 7th sem but the training and stuff starts from 5th sem onwards. I don't really know much about the placements since I'm not planning on doing job after graduation and probably gonna do masters in the future.

Course Curriculum Overview:

So to be honest B.E course is a 4 years engineering course and it is not that easy and not too hard also. It needs a lot of focus, hardwork and practice to clear all exams. There are bunch of students who takes admission in B.E in first year but most of the students do back off in second year or some of them gets failed and gets an year drop. B.E course can be more efficient if we follow the teaching pattern like abroads. Less theory more practicals for students to understand properly.

The highest package of this year was somewhere 61LPA and the average was 9 LPA. Somewhere around 82-83% students were placed this year and with good amount of packages My plan after getting the degree is pursuing a master's degree in abroad
