- The thing I like is there arent many distractive elements in the uni itself and some of the faculty are actually helpful in extracurricular activities aswell.
- There are events every other week and attending them reduces stress a lot. There isn't any ragging aswell.
Dislikes
- The architecture could use some work. Whenever there is a slight rain, some of the classrooms get water in them.
- There isnt any planning on the management part, whenever a new batch of students come in, entirety of the college feels packed
Course Curriculum Overview :
The exams are too frequent in my opinion and you can't even see the deadlines coming at ALL. I chose this course since it had better job opportunities. The curriculum does prepare u for real-world applications , they teach you coding and foreign languages as well with tons of exposure
Placement Experience :
From 6th sem Placement offers start for the 3rd years. Cognizant , TCS, Accenture, Wipro, IBM are some of the companies that have visited. No. of offers made in 2023 were 3453 Dream Offers. Highest Package in 2024: 27 LPA INR Average Package: 14.4 LPA INR 90% students are placed (as per college profiles)
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The annual fee depends on the rank on the VITEEE exam depending on which the fee structure is there. I got in through Category-1 which is nearly 2 lakh per annum fees. There aren't any extra fees to be paid except bus fees which depend on the distance. There are scholarships such as Reliance scholarships but I didn't avail it since I didn't know about it back then.
Campus Life :
VITOPIA is the annual fest that is held and is full of fun, and events and feels like a concert, Singers and celebrities are invited to perform. The entire day is full of events and at night the real event starts and goes on til 11 p.m. or so.V-TAPP is the technical fest that hosts multiple technical and non-technical events throughout the campus and goes on for 2 days same as VITOPIA. The books and journals in the library are well designed for the students to understand and have the necessary guidance for students present. There is a whiteboard on which they teach. Sports and extracurriculars are extremely encouraged within the campus. During V-TAPP, there are sports events conducted in collaboration with other universities. There is an SAC building which is like the sports building where you can play any game u want to and there is also the SPORTS TRIANGLE where you can play cricket, volleyball, basketball, and many games which is under the jurisdiction of the Sports Instructor.
Admission :
Other colleges from which I got admission forms were KLU and SRM-AP . I chose VIT-AP because it was a sister institution of the VIT campus and due to the promise of centralized placements. Also due to the rank I got in the VITEEE exam, which is the entrance exam, the fees for VIT-AP was way less when compared to KLU and SRM-AP, SRM's annual tuition fee was 2.5 lakh INR without other fees like Bus fee etc...The admission process is done by ranking the student scores on the VITEEE exam and the AP-EAMCET exam. Depending on the rank achieved, course, and campus selected, there are 5 categories of fee structures, for instance, Category 1's fee for my BTech CSE course is 2 lakh INR/annum. For Category 3 its 3.5 lakh INR /annum and so on . Exams accepted are VITEE and AP-EAMCET exams which are held annually once. Some prefer EAMCET because the ranking makes it easier to get a low fee structure when we get in through EAMCET which is like 70k INR /annum.
Faculty :
The faculty are good and knowledgeable but sometimes struggle to convey that knowledge. There are 3 exams, 2 CATs and 1 FAT, FAT is the sem exam and CATs are the mid-sem exams, but this might change to 1 CAT and 1 FAT soon (they did so for the freshers) and there is also Lab FAT which happens at the end of the semester
Other Applied Colleges
K L University - [KLU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
I found VIT-AP more preferable than KLU
