- good infrastructure and mostly all the professors are PHDS. the college is maintained in a very nice way and have a lot of things you could do around the campus
- good number of clubs and student participation. mostly hackathons and other events that take place increases student interactions. the faculty incharge of these clubs give good mentorship and are very helpful
Dislikes
- a lot of student intake is there so it gets crowded at times, parking problem persists everyday which could be improved
Course Curriculum Overview :
computer science gives good placements and more money thats why i chose this course not at all the curriculum prepares us for real world applications that we have to do ourselves teaching methods could be improved as professors could teach students but not just reading from pdfs and actually giving us real world experience in the subject matter there are exams every month for 4 5 months every semester
Placement Experience :
the placements in college are nice with a placement cell in place which helps u secure good placements. there is a 100% placement rate in our college and if u still fail to get a placement u could aquire an off campus placement thru srm name 3rd year 5th sem students get eligible to sit in placements the companies visites are microsoft tcs mitsuibisi citi bank goldman sacks etc and the packages offered are 10lps 15lps 7lpa 9lpa 15lpa and 27lpa respectivly 35lps was the highest package and 7.5lpa is the avg package given in srm i would want to sit in the placement as well
Fees and Financial Aid :
the year wise fees i paid was 4,00,000 for btech computer science and technology core the tuition fees was 3,35,000 caution fees was 5000 registration fees was 5000 admisission fees was 20000 development fees was 10000 lab fees 15000 and compulsory charges was 10000 my batchmade who is in AI ML pays a fee of 4,50,000 pa financial aid is provided to students who are rank holders 1-27 in srmjee and 12 board toppers. complete fees is waivered to state topper and country topper
Campus Life :
name of our annual festival is aarush techno management fest held in the months of october. its the largest techno management fest in india. the campus life is good with a lot of activities to do around. u could make friends mentors seniors just by roaming around the campus. lots of club helps u get into them and then upskill ur resume by making projects etc our liberary is very very diverse with a lot of books u could issue and read we have all the sports facilities as well as advanced labs for all the subjevts as well as a startup lab where people could build there own startups we have national level basketball and swimming teams with state of the art facilities 3 of the students from srm took part in the paris olymics and one our alumi even won a bronze medal all the clubs are student runs with faculty mentors to help them
Hostel Facilities :
there are ac and non ac rooms in the hostel with nominal furniture like beds tables chairs etc the mess food is not that great and bland in taste but the menu changes every week so u get new stuff to try registration of hostels are done of the hostel protal of acadamia website and is fairly easy the afforadablity is a little expensive as it costs more than 2 lakhs per annum the hostels are in the college campus only and there are number different hostels u could choose from
Admission :
i applied to srm since south india is known for its good colleges, srm is placed in 13th rank all over india so companies will come for placements, if i could have gone to a better college it would be BITS or MANIPAL but i didnt get computer science in those colleges colleges thats why i chose srm over them. the admission process of srm was pretty simple with srmjee as the enterance exam and if u pass the exam u give a coouncelling fee to get admission in the college i applied to other colleges like bits kiit maniapl etc but couldnt get cse degree in those colleges. i got rejected from foreign colleges like kings college london and nyu new york because of my low sat score the eligibily of srm admission process is 75% above boards percentage and under 10000 rank in srmjee and u should be a citizen of india . cuttoffs for this exam is 85% above in srm jee or 94% above in jee mains
Faculty :
for every 5 students there is a faculty. the faculty to student relations are not always good as there is a language barrier in south india and. the faculty is approachable but not everytime, the faculty i liked best was a professor name dr kandan hes our faculty advisor. helps us students alot and gives us placement opportunities in advanced there are 3 class tests and one end sems. the exams are moderate to difficult with alot of course to cover. almost 20 to 25 % of students fail the exams. the course curriculum is not at all relevent and not gives us real world applications
