- Main lectures are taken by visiting faculties ( they are working architects)
- Many seminars are held ( architects from all over india are invited and they show case their work)
Dislikes
- Poor management in the college, as exams are organised by RGPV
- From my personal experience the everyday faculty is not that super friendly
Course Curriculum Overview :
As this course allows me to do so many creative things and also it is a field work ( i love field work) that is why I choose this course. But this submission deadline get really on to you and I feel like the creativity which I've doesn't get fully utilised. The working hours are deadly. I'll be honest it takes almost 8-10 hours to fully hand draft one building construction sheets So don't burden yourself with too much work ( at last it will just convert into regret) Ips is bit irregular with exams like my 4 semester stared in January but exams happened in aug ( it was pretty long semester) Whereas other 3 semester were 4to5 months long
Internships Opportunities :
As I'm a 3 year student What I've known from my seniors and teachers that u yourself only have to look for the internship the college will not offer you internship unless and untill u r lucky enough Many national level competition are welcomed in college As nasa is a big part in college u can work in many trophies out there (contains really good project)
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
So bachelor in architecture is a five year course consisting of 10 semester I'm currently in 3 year The yearly fees that I'm paying is under 120000 The first year I paid 114000 And for 2 and 3 year I paid 109000 And for 4 year it is same as 2&3 year And for 5 year it will be under 115000 The tution fees for one semester is 47000 approx As architecture have nasa ( national association of student of architecture) 600 is charged till 3 year. You can register yourself in college by paying 10000 earlier as pre admission, which is later on adjusted with your fees. The caution money paid is 5000 If you want bus facility it is 25000 fir every year U have to pay 2000 for your blazer too. There are some scholarship given to reserved candidates. ( Scholarship by government, which college informs you.) Amount mentioned is in INR
Campus Life :
I'll say ips doesn't offer you that dreamy college life I'll say it is even worst . There is too much crowd they give admission to everyone They do not check your id's before entering into the college (it is a free entry to anyone) I feel like there is too much unwanted people in the college which makes campus more suffocating and unhygienic and highly unsafe also. As ips offers variety of courses and gives too much admission, there is no chance to have a college fest as it will be heavily crowded, so Every department has there own fest ..... Talking about just architecture department I'll say comparatively there is a good crowd Many events are organised U could volunteer yourself for it. Madweek is the main event ( fresher)of 4 days organised every year( organised around April) Library have a good amount of books Classes have drafting table U can listen to music while studio timings Counsil bodies are made many clubs like cultural , photography are there
Admission :
So for architecture you have to do pcm in 11&12 Then you have to give nasa orr jee paper 2 If you get good score in nata u can get admission in top colleges like cept ahemdabad jj of Mumbai ( 170 above) And via jee u get spa and nits (99 percentile for general) I choose ips academy Indore as i live in Indore itself , I've certain contacts here for my internship. The only colleges I was interested in going out had a big cut off that I wasn't able to achieve so I felt ips being a local college is a better option as it is the only good private college for architecture in whole madhya pradesh There were private colleges like parul that were giving me admission but I felt like it wasn't that worth to move out there. There are many colleges in gujrat which met my cutoffs of nata ( but there was a local reservation over there) My College asked for my nata score only ( they just need you to pass the nata exam) They got me registered on dte site Then asked for marksheet of 12 U pay fee
Faculty :
So in bachelors of architecture there are 10 semester. Exams are held at every semester. So there are certain subjects like building construction, design which requires model and sheets, this subjects have both practical and theory exam. I'll say theory is quite easy if you do your sheets disciplinely. Practical exams marking are done in two halves that is during submission and other one during viva. ( If you don't submit your sheets on time you are already fail in practical and you have to give it again) Other subjects like history in architecture, building service ,climatology are theory. I feel like they are quite easy One of the toughest subject is structure ( many people fail in it) So the faulty ratio is 1:12 or 1:15 Every faculty in there own way have flaws according to me . One thing I've understood is no one is going to spoon feed you here You've to work to prove yourself in front of teachers As it is a creative field course many faculty will disapprove your design.
