Architecture

Remarks :

All in all the college is good. The knowledge of faculties is the main reason to opt for college. The only negative about the college is its connectivity from the rest of the city. The college is way off the main city and most of the time goes in traveling.

Entrance Exam

Course Curriculum Overview :

I honestly feel the course needs to revamped entirely. The current course lacks practical knowledge required for the field. The course fails to provide practicality. Outdated topics need to be removed off completely.

Internships Opportunities :

A mandatory academic internship of a minimum of 150 days has to be carried out by a student on their own capacity as part of the course. One has to apply to the architectural firms for an internship. College does not provide an internship.

Placement Experience :

Technically placement rarely happens in this field. One has to be on their own. After 5 years of education, once you get the degree and license to do practice, issued by COA (Council of Architecture), one can set up his/her own firm and work privately. Opportunities are immense. One can apply for the job in other firms, set up their own or freelance.

College Events :

The college celebrates every day of national importance. For example, Independence Day, Republic Day, Gandhi Jayanti, etc. The annual college fest happens in the month of December. Architect's Day is celebrated on every 1st Monday of October. Teacher's Day is also one of the most awaited events of the college. Along with this, other events such as Garba, Sports Day etc are also conducted.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is as per regulated by the state agency. For General category students, the fees are nearly 1-1.25 Lac per annum inc. transportation, miscellaneous charges, etc. Scholarships and fee waivers are available to the eligible candidates. The fees for the other private colleges are in the same range. So either way one has to pay the same amount of fees to get admissions.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I belong to the General category so not entitled to any fee waiver or scholarship. Also, I haven't applied for a student's loan for my education course. But one can avail these facilities if one is eligible.

Campus Life :

The college is highly active in extracurricular activities. I would recommend one to indulge in every extracurricular activity the college has to offer. This boosts one's CV also helps in individual growth. Most of the architectural lessons are learned during these extracurricular sessions. There are labs but the professions demand field practice so the labs are rarely used.

Hostel Facilities :

Since I am a day scholar. I am not entitled to comment on this as I am not the user of hostel facilities. Although many students stay in the hostel during their first 2 years in the college after that, they move out to find other accommodation options that are relatively cheaper and better in the neighboring localities.

Alumni/Alumna :

The seniors are no doubt the source of knowledge outside the architectural studios. One learns most lessons from the seniors. The seniors are the contactable and reachable resources when one cannot approach the faculties. Their experiences and knowledge also help.

Exam Structure :

The college is affiliated to Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University. The pattern is semester based. There are university exams after the conclusion of every semester. The course is of 10 semesters with approx.8-9 subjects each semester, with last semester being the Thesis project.

Admission :

An entrance exam has to be cleared called NATA (National Aptitude Test for Architecture). The exam has to be given in both online and offline modes. On the basis of the score in that exam one is entitled to apply for B.Arch anywhere. The exam score is accepted by all colleges. After the 12th board results along with the NATA score, a rank list is generated by the state agencies. And according to the rank list one can opt for their preferred colleges on the basis of their ranks.

Faculty :

Almost all the faculties are practicing, so they have sound knowledge of the practical world. This is an added advantage as their experiences in the field also helps a lot. One can say this is the real strength of the college.

The campus provides placements for 5th-year and 3rd-year ID students. There are about 10-15 companies that come for placements. The average package of the company would be roughly 2,50,000 to 3,00,000.

Placement Experience:

campus placement is generally eligible in the last year. for architecture, the term campus placement is not fitting in this college. there is only a single company taking students from here in the name of campus placement. the intake is less than 5 students out of 80. more students go for starting a firm by their own or do post-graduation. i think ill do the post graduation after my degree.

Admission:

Admissions into any architectural university nowadays are purely through NATA. This university doesn't choose to differ as well. The minimum marks to be scored in boards is 50% with PCM as the stream. The candidate has to apply online and pay the fee online too.

Placement Experience:

There are very little/no placements as of now. But the student can take up internship programs if he/she is interested with stipend. The college doesn't provide them stipend. The college however grooms us well to face situations like placements.

Admission:

I wrote JEE mains and NATA as I was very determined in getting into architecture someway or the other. Luckily I got into B.Arch at TSAP with my NATA score and Board score cumulative. One has to score a minimum of 50% in his/her boards. The NATA and JEE mains cut off varies from year to year.

Placement Experience:

Placement training at TSAP is excellent, we have frequent workshops, the institute even takes up live projects where students could lend a hand. Most of them do their post-graduation and the rest of them get placed in firms for experiencing a job.
