Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum for Bcom (Hons) revolves around dealing with financial aspects like financial accounting and application of management principles in the work environment. Being from the commerce field, I was interested in choosing this course with the opportunities tied with it and the comprehensive learning. The curriculum prepares you well for the real world with lab classes which teach you the practical use of theory based learning. Exam frequency is fine. They are held at the end of the semester giving a lot of time for preparation
Internships Opportunities
Many companies come to offer internships. Recently, A company called " ZIGRAM " came with an offer for Bsc. students with an intial stipend of 15k and monthly stipend going upto 20k. It was a great opportunity to put your skills to test and grow along. The company would also offer permanent job offer to the interns on completion along with other benefits.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements from the 5th semester which is the beginning of the 3rd year. Placements are average ranging from 300000 pa to 500000 pa. Highest package goes to 2500000 pa. 70% students get placed which is a good percentage. Many top recruiters like ICIC bank, Max life insurance etc. have come to offer placements in campus.
Fees and Financial Aid
College is great. Social aspect is great. It has a lot of societies and clubs for development. The faculty specially the Commerce and Psychology departmemt is excellent. Fee for 1 Year ranges from 5000-20000 for different courses. Infrastructure is decent though it lacks in some aspects. Poor maintainence. Provides great placement and internship opportunities
Campus Life
Infrastructure is decent. Campus size is big but maintainance is low. Social life is great. There are many societies for social, mental and skill development which provides growth prospect for the real world. It helps you flourish in different areas such as dance, singing, art, management, environment protection, social work etc.
Admission
I was alloted this college by Delhi University. Though I wanted a top north or south campus college, I was still satisfied with this college. I didn't clear the cut off for colleges like Hindu, SRCC, LSR, Ramjas etc. which is why I didn't get in the respective college. The admission process is simple. You register through DU csas portal and fill your preferences. You will be alloted a seat based on your merit and preferences in the subsequent rounds. The exam needed to get into DU colleges is CUET.
Faculty
Faculty is excellent. My faculty is approachable. Many teachers in one department to help students with their doubts. The exams are medium level and with regular studies its easy to clear them. The Commerce and Psychology department has the best faculty meanwhile the science faculty is a bit loose but still great.
