  • No AC in the classrooms, although it is available in the labs
  • Quality of mess food can be improved, also the serving staff are rude often

Course Curriculum Overview :

Academics and Examinations at vit are very well planned and effective. CSE core at vit chennai is famous as many students got offers from MNCs. There are many courses we can choose as an elective Vit also gives us experience with the industry experts As far as now there are no improvements I would suggest, The frequency is perfect, not less not more, difficulty level changes , like if the exam is closed book then it is comparatively easier than open book exam

Internships Opportunities :

Everybody has to complete internship in the third year, Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Adobe, nvidia, nxp have offered internships with stipend upto 2 lakh(abroad) Foreign exchange programs are also held with scholarships

Placement Experience :

Students are eligible to sit for placements from the ending of third year i.e. from the 6th sem Many companies like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, apple, and a lot many came here for the placement, This year 4students got offer letter from Google with 60+lpa salary, almost all the students get placed, some are left as they pursue higher education Vit also helps these students with foreign colleges as they have tie up with multiple colleges abroad I would probably sit for the placements as of now

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Category 5 fees - 490000/- per year Hostel + mess fees(6 bed ac+non-veg mess) : 200000/-(inclusive of all caution deposit money - 50000/-) No reservation quota based on SC,SC,OBC, Management. My friends have same fees as mine but different categories have different tution fees like( cat1-200000,cat2-300000, cat3-400000, cat4-450000, cat5-490000) Scholarships are given to students whose parents are defence personnel(amount 200000/-entire course), full attendance scholarship(1000/-per year), female child scholarship (whose family income is less than 600000/-)

Campus Life :

Many fests are organised like vibrance(March) techno vit(September) Books and journals are easily available in the library as they have system which maintains record of each and every book which helps to find them very easily even through hostel Four boards(2white and 2 black) are there in each class with a projector Electrical sockets are available in the entire class but only the teacher area sockets work Sports facilities include almost every sport like lawn tennis, football, cricket, basketball, volleyball, badminton, swimming, table tennis, etc. There are a LOT of clubs and groups to join here, like team movies for robotics which participates in many competitions across the country, and a lot many to name

Hostel Facilities :

I live in 6bed ac room which are spacious, with breathtaking views from the windows, We are given with a cupboard, a study table , a chair, and bunker beds.rest all the items have to be brought by you. Mess food quality is okayish but needs improvement, (CRCL) For registration, you need to pay the fees and submit a joint afidavit by you and your parents. I feel that the hostel fees is higher because of the location in chennai

Admission :

I applied for many other colleges like bits pilani, iisers iiith, manipal, kiit, etc Couldn't get into bits, iisers, iiith due to high cutoff, but got was getting admission in manipal and kiit I got CSE branch in manipal Bangalore campus, but didn't opt for that as it is very new campus like it was established in the year 2021 and the students were yet to be placed. I also got offer from kiit in CSE core branch, but I saw that people getting very less marks are also getting the same branch(the crowd wouldn't be good as compared to my level), that is why opted vit chennai CSE core branch

Faculty :

Faculties as mentioned earlier are very experienced and highly qualified, There are 70 students in a class with one professor Faculties are very friendly and always welcoming for any sort of doubts, never found a rude one till date Dr chendur kumaran (EEE) is my favourite teacher as he teaches everything from the basics and he also done his PhD from IIT Madras. Rajesh kumar Mohapatra(Calculus) sir teaches well but understanding his accent becomes a task as he has done his schooling in odiya medium, Ramesh kannan (Python)sir also teaches very fast and new students studying python for the first time won't be able to understand his classes. There are mainly 3exams per sem : cat1, cat2, and fat1 other than this there are internal grading based on quizzes, digital assignments, and projects Only 7 students in a class get above 9 cgpa The course is same as the rest of the colleges, however subjects like engineering chemistry, physics seem unimportant.

From the fifth semester, students become eligible for campus placements. 80 per cent of students get placements The placements team and also industry trainers work efficiently to groom students and invite new recruiters every year.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements start in the 7th semester. Due to the recession, there is a lot of backlash when it comes to placements. It has been quite poor for the last few years. But it depends on how the student is prepared for the competitive world.

Placement Experience:

Placement is good for the CSE and IT departments. You can't expect placement if you belong to other departments, there is a placement for the other departments but very less. Campus placement starts in 3rd year itself. They have special classes for Aptitude skills and interview preparation GD and necessary preparations for job placement opportunities. 90% of students from CSE and IT get placed. The average package is 7.5 LPA you can expect a minimum of 3.5 LPA. If you are willing to go for higher studies you can contact the international relation office they have good relations with other universities abroad, they have students exchange programs, research scholarships etc if you are not planning to seat in placement. I plan for higher studies and research after my Btech.

Placement Experience:

The placements in my college is very good and top companies hire students across every branch with a good amount of package. At the end of 3rd year every student is elegible for the placements in college. About 20 to 25 companies visited for campus hiring and approximately 700 offers were given across the college from every branch. 60 percentage of students got placed in the campus hiring program. Highest package is 24 LPA and the aveyis 5LPA. My plan is to get into a good MNC company which is related to Aerospace technology.
