  • Kolkata has hot and humid weather and only some classes have AC.

Course Curriculum Overview :

My course has total 6 subjects in 1st semester. 2 major subjects which are Introduction to Poltical Theory and Introduction to Indian Constitution and Government. I have opted for History as my minor subject. We have compulsory environment studies and multidisciplinary subject (studying Indian Diaspora ), and we need to choose modern indian language from either of the three - English, Hindi, and Bengali, whichever language you studied in class 10 will be your mil subject so I have English as my mil.

Internships Opportunities :

Different scopes and chances are provided for internship. There is a wide choice for internship programmes. Top companies offer programs for internship. It helps in providing knowledge and it helps in adding value to your portfolio for great future.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Total fees for my corse is rs. 68,400. Amount of rs. 31,900 was made at the time of admission to confirm your seat. Each semester fees are paid in installements . 2nd installement is of rs. 12,300. total sum of rs. 44,200 for 1st semester and total fees for 2nd semester is rs. 24,200

Campus Life :

The social life in Xavier's is very fun. Here people are from different places you got to interact more and learn more. There are many societies from every perspective. Every society conducts their own fests or programmes

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel is very good. Seperate accomodation for boy and girls. We have accommodation option for 3 sharing, 2 sharing and single room. Food is very good. Fully secured surrounding. Hostel is 1.2 kms away from college.

Admission :

I applied to 3 other colleges. 1.Delhi University- was alloted Gargi college but didn't go as I already got admitted to Xavier's college before. 2. Madras Christian College- got admitted for History Hons. but didn't go as i don't know much about the college. 3. Jamia Milia Islamia- I wasn't able to pass the entrance test as the cutoff was too high. I got admitted in Xavier's through merit basis.

Faculty :

Faculty members are really helpful. The professors are relly good , they help in every posible way. We have CIA's as mid sem exam for each semester of 30 marks and end sem exams for each semester of 70 marks.

Other Applied Colleges

Delhi University - [DU] | Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (Political Science)

Xaviers has a good crowd. Best place to enhance your skill and showcase your talents

Madras Christian College - [MCC] | Bachelor of Arts [BA] (History)

Didn't knew much about the college. Language barrier was there.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I've always liked psychology since the day i took the subject in class 11-12. I was very determined to persue psychology in my graduation as well as masters. The curriculum convinced me more to study this subject and know more about it. The curriculum involves all the aspects including it's applications in the real world. I personally don't think they should make much changes to the curriculum.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This curriculum is enriched with literature works by British and American writers which is really enjoyable to read and the Teachers make it more exciting. Teachers are really good at explaining every single point in the syllabus. In the history of literature part they give us notes about each and every write a and there works so that we are familiar with most of the part of our syllabus. They does not teach only for the exams but they make sure that we learn everything with depth. We have a semester exams in every 6 month but sometimes it becomes 7 or 5. But the teachers are really supportive so that we don't panic in our exams.

Placement Experience:

Training and placement cell complements the efforts of the members of faculty by organizing value-added programs and providing career counseling and placement opportunities to students. It acts as the major interface with the corporate sector and helps develop the industry-academia interrelationship. The cell organizes certain orientation programs, grooming sessions, mock interview sessions for students of each stream. Moreover, the cell organizes various summer internship programs for students to provide them with hands-on experience, thus introducing them to the professional environment. The cell continuously coordinates with various industries and organizations for the placement of students. It actively obtains feedback from organizations and conveys it to respective departments which, in turn, trains students accordingly, thereby increasing their employability. At Heritage, an all-out effort is made to groom the students for enhanced employability.

Admission:

I got affirmation in this university based on 10+2 marks. The base imprints expected to get a confirmation in this school is 50% in 10+2. To get affirmation, first, the up-and-comer needs to fill the structure. As I have done B.A. from this college, my affirmation depends on the legitimacy list.

Placement Experience:

The college gives great positions to the students. Numerous seniors from my seashore were put with acceptable compensation bundles. Numerous students likewise landed government positions. Likewise, a portion of the students got entry-level positions in all around rumoured firms. I also got an internship at this university. After that, I was placed in the same firm.

Remarks:

The postivie thing of our college is its Ambeince, Quality teachings, and being on of the oldest colleges in west bengal its a heritage to us and as a student i am proud to be a student of this college. In academic ways it clears all the basic and essential qualities needed in terms of studies which made it to be one of the top colleges in west bengal. The only negative thing according to me is that our canteen is open only for our professors not for us which is very unfair.

Remarks:

The College excels in providing a peaceful learning atmosphere where there is no brouhaha of the outside world and the teachers are superb. But , unfortunately, being a boys-only college, the girls can not have the excellent opportunities provided here. As an autonomous college, they should exercise their freedom more to the students' needs. The disciplinarian rigidity is extreme help, but it fires back sometimes. Otherwise, the college is a complete package for those who wants to really build their career and at the same time live a enjoyable hostel life. It is an experience indelible. Students are lucky and proud.

Entrance Preview:

There is no entrance exam conducted by the college. They publish a merit list and tech admission are done through this merit list.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum strictly follows the university guidelines. The curriculum is very tough and extreme time and energy has to be invested to be able to score moderately good. Pass subjects are another headache because you have to clear them too. So choose a moderately easy subject which you think you can handle.
