  • The management at times is very rigid on dealing with a few issues regarding students affairs.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Every course offered by the university is revised periodically by industry experts who visit the campus just before the beginning of a session. The curriculum once a student enter his/her specialisation is very precise and changes dynamically year after year. As such a faculty in any engineering department in the university has an average teaching experience of 10 years. A semester is spread across 4-5 months with 1st internals happening 1.5 months after the session has began.

Internships Opportunities :

Once a student has completed his/her 6th semester the student becomes eligible to apply for internships and placements. The process of shortlisting students for internships in companies like goldman sachs, cisco and SAP labs begin well in advance. Companies offer a stipend ranging from 25,000 to 1.5lpa for internships depending on the job role.

Placement Experience :

The students become eligible from placements after he/she completes their 6th semester. Every top tier company one can think of has or had visited the campus in the placements activities that took place. Likes of MIcrosoft, Apple, Oracle and multiple MNCs have visited the campus with each of them making 1-5 offers each. The highest package in the previous placement season was 48lpa and the lowest was 4lpa. 100% of the students who are eligible for placements that is have a gpa of 6.75+ have gotten placed in the previous placement drive

Fees and Financial Aid :

The year wise fees paid by a student who has enrolled through the college enterance exam [PESSAT] is between 4lacs to 5lacs depending on the course taken. A student who is enrolling through KCET counselling will have to pay a sum of 110000 as their fees to the college. The management fees quota ranges from anywhere between 7lacs to 12lacs, depending on the stream the student has opted.

Campus Life :

The campus life is quite vibrant and has a lot to offer provided the student is interested in co-curricular activites. The library of the university is a massive 2 floor library which can accomodate more than 500 students at once. Each classroom is equipped with Audio Visual systems to assist the faculty to create a better learning environment. The college has around 50+ clubs and most of them are active. There is a good mix of cultural and technical clubs. There are various communities too, to support and encourage a student to register for activities happening outside the campus. In the field of sports PES has had athletes represent the state at national level in sports like cricket, football and athletics.

Admission :

The reason for opting for PES University was because of the excellent record the university holds in placing students to top tier companies. The college has been in top 5 colleges in Karnataka for over a decade and doesnt fail to produce results every year, even now when the job market is towards the downside the university has made provisions to have its students get placed in good job roles with their influence in the tech market.

Faculty :

The faculty to student ratio at PES University is great with one faculty for every 40 students, there is also a mentor mentee system with one mentor being assigned around 30 students. The mentoring sessions are held periodically to understand the students experiences and help them improve their academics. The faculties at the university are very approachable and are open to clear doubts whenever the students approaches them. The exam structure currently is broken down into two internal exams and one end semester exam per semester, the two internals are held for 40 marks each and the end semester is conducted for 100 marks. Every exam held in the university has a fair division between hard, medium and easy questions.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our college (NHCE) is affiliated to VTU but it's autonomous college. I like mechanical engineering and my father is also a mechanical engineer which inspired me to mechanical engineering. It is a bit outdated, expect more applications of the concepts. As I said we have exams every month, the frequency is good and the difficulty of exams I mid to easy range.

Placement Experience:

Many top MNC's come to the college. Recently the placement opportunities has increased when compared to our batchs.Companies like TCS, Wipro, IBM, Infosys, SLK, Mphasis etc had given us the opportunity. The average package offer was 3.5lpa or 4lpa. The highest package known to me was 10lpa for a CS student not for us. The placements begins either at the end of 6th sem or in the beginning of 7th sem. Almost 60-70% of us were placed by the end of graduation but due to recession the onboarding was very late. Waited for more than a year to get onboarded.
