  • Opportunities are hard to find because they are not openly presented. You will have to dig for them and make alot of connections to acquire them.
  • Campus size is quite small. It's very minute. While it can appear cozy, you get sick of it pretty soon.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Unfortunately, the curriculum of psychology across India can be rather outdated and this is no fault of the institute. The faculty makes sure to go above and beyond to teach the topics at hand. And they do a good job at it. The hands on /practical material is taught well and many references are made available to the students with ease. The timing of the exams sometimes clashes with cultural events which can be a bit problematic.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

51000 per year. Fees increased in year two from 50,000 to 51,000. Application fees 1500 rupees. Not much other fees was taken. Fees can be paid online itself. Everyone has the same fees. No aided department for Psychology, it is purely self financed.

Campus Life :

They have two major fests, Deja Vu (culturals) and Sports day. Depending on the elected student body, we also celebrate Pongal, Diwali, Christmas, Onam, etc. Library has a very good collection despite its size. And the wifi is of good quality. In the psych dept. Only two out of three classroom had a projector. The tables and chairs can feel weird at first. There's decent ventilation. Sports and extracurricular activites are seen as leisure activites so there's not much infrastructure for that however students are open to participate in events and do their best. The main student run organizations are the SDC (Student body) and the Rotract club. Both are very active and depending on the team, they do a decent job.

Admission :

Applied to PSG, WCC and MOP Vaishnav. Went here because despite me getting accepted into them, I heard really amazing things about MSSW. I felt their atmosphere was much better for overall holistic growth. Admission was easy, all the processes were online. I got in with the third list. And I was pretty happy about it. For OC, cut off was 90 i believe.

Faculty :

Faculty from UG Psych dept. are incredibly approachable. There are around 7-8 faculty excluding the language professors. But even they are extremely friendly, open and helpful to students. It also matters how you approach them. All the faculty are good in their own way. Like every department, there is internal politics but not to the extent that it will affect students marks, etc. They are mature enough to keep their personal feelings out of a students future. There's three exams a semester. Two Internal Class Assesments and one End semester. Questions for the papers are set appropriatly as most material is covered or given as reference. It is extremely relevant to the course.

The specific aspect of curriculum is that it exposes the student to the actual applications of data science in the real world . The exams are held monthly once. Their difficulty level can be rated moderate.

Highest of 9l and lowest 92k for a year. 4.97% of students get placed and other students go to do higher degrees. 5. PG as MSc.cs, I am planning to do this degree after this degree.
