My Life at UPES

Dislikes

  • This college will not spoon feed you, if have to push yourself a bit
  • The location of this college is too interior that travelling becomes difficult if you're staying off campus

Course Curriculum Overview :

This college is good in gaming and graphics in computer science BTech which was the reason for me to choose this college. Tbh most teach you here for knowledge which will help you ahead in real world problems. They can start decreasing the number of students. The difficulty of the exams I'll say moderate to hard.

Internships Opportunities :

After 1st year you'll have to do a social internship where you would not be paid off. But it's really important as it helps a lot during placement. After you complete your 2nd year and maintain a good CGPA, there are chances you'll get an internship.

Placement Experience :

Placements are offered by the college and it's decent but I'll not say it's great tho. Although this college claims for 100 percent placement but most of them picked up by the mass recruiters. I mean ya big companies like Microsoft, Accenture, Adobe, etc visit these colleges but they barely pick anyone.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

It's too expensive according to me. Like if you go without a scholarship you'll have to pay 20L in four years but I'll say in reality it'll cost over 25L in 4 years. According to me there are more colleges outside with a low cost and better quality of education.

Campus Life :

The campus life year is great I would say. The campus is clean, has many sports options and has a lot of different events every now and then. You'll enjoy your college life here and if you are in search of peace, this place is the best for you.

Admission :

Tbh if you have money this college will grab you. The only qualification you need is score more than 50 percentile in JEE or get a decent marks in boards or give the upes sat exam which is for name sake.

Faculty :

In a class there are around 60 students so the ratio goes around 1:60. There are some faculties that are very good in teaching and will help you whenever you'll ask them. Just give the faculties a call and say I have a doubt in this problem or something and he/she will give you a time as soon as possible

From 3rd year that is 5 th semester students are eligible for campus placements and interships. The companies who visited our campus is Deloitte, PWC, Amazon, TCS, Mahindra etc. Highest package offered currently in 2023 is 32 Lpa and 22 Lpa and average is between 5-6 Lpa.80% of the total students appeared in the placement. My plans is to pursue mtech after this.

Placement Experience:

6th sem onwards placement drives are carried out in this university. All the students in that particular semester may be eligible for the placements. No I said eligible as because the attendance as well as the backlogs are checked. As the college is very strict about attendance and backlogs. If either of the two doesn't reaches rhe minimum criteria then the students are debared for the session or from the placements drive. Ok so 192 companies visit the campus every year where the hight package reached was of INR 33.50 LPA. The average package ranges from INR 7LPA - INR 8.5LPA. Placement percentage is almost around 91% as of the current year. My plans after getting the degree is to like opt for higher studies and get placed either abroad or into the biggest MNC in India.

curriculum is like that they provide 5-6 classes in a day. They provide couses subjects like software engineering , computer applications, gate classes, mathematics ,they also should have provide physics lectures but due to regular changer in thier curriculum and erp they could not maintain any pace . As I'm in 2nd ye I don't know much about the placement cell but I heard from the seniors that the placement ratio is good but only for those who devoted themselves to studies. The highest placement ever was like 1.1 CR and avg is 6L. The percentage of students getting placement is like 40%.My plans are giving CDS or GATE exam for higher studies.

Remarks:

It was recommended by my seniors who have earlier studied in this college. The other thing that fascinated me towards the college is the faculties. They are well qualified and heard from others they teach so well so i chose the college. The other thing is the infrastructure and the college is in the area where less noise comes.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good. Some company that visits are zaro education, rubisoft etc. Placement has 3-4 rounds and the placement cell is good and managed with good teachers
