Course Curriculum Overview

5

Usually, in our coarse, we follow updated curriculum about food processing technology. We do also have food analysis on our practical classes 3 days per week. I have chosen this coarse because I believe that food processing technology era is growing drastically and we can see lots of opportunities in the same field itself. Improvement can be made in the curriculum, so that they can also include food laws , importance of food in india and world wide so that students will get to know more about the syllabus and food processing technology. The frequency of timing that we get inbetween the semester exams is about 4-5 months which is pretty enough to cover all the portions that they have taken and we can calmly prepare for our end semester and exams very well.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tution fee for our B. VOC food processing technology is like we have two semesters per year. And the fee is alternatively changed. Example the first semester we have to pay fees of 45,000 but the second semester it is about 25,000. The same thing is repeated in remaining semesters. So in total, we have 6 semester for our under graduate programme. So, for me as a day scholar i only had to pay my tution fee which was approximately around 2 lakh INR for my graduation and along with ?1050 as my exam registration fee in every semester. There are some scholarship for students who are SCST. and for those who are children of navy. Other than that they do not provide any scholarship for children who perform excellent in studies ( it is a drawback) They also does not provided me with campus employment, no stipends awarded for the students as well.

Campus Life

5

There are so many festivals conducted in our college, among those , the most important one is the TERESIAN WEEK. Where the whole week will be a festival for students to explore. There are also arts club inauguration and so many other festivals takes place once in a month or twice. Also we have quick access to the library as they provide so many books, articles and journals for the studeto refer and read them. There are not much facilities in our classroom. We of coarse do have projector and doesn't have an air conditioned classroom. There are so many sports activities, like tennis ball, basket ball and other extracurricular activities taking place in out college and the authorities provide time for students for practicing also. Also we have NCC club, RED cross and other social activity, TROP Avtivities carried out in our college along with a student portal named DIGNA

Admission

Eligibility for the coarse is we have to get around 80% marks in our higher secondary exam and we have to be from science field. The application form can be collected from the official website of the college after the official login. Application fees is around ?1850 INR and the application dates can be identified in our official college website itself. NRI category students can directly get into the coarse after the payment of donation to the collage authority so that they do not enter through merit qouta. The frequency and timing of exams is that 3 hours per exam which is pretty much easier for the students to write them correctly. But main problem is that they provide the same duration for masters students also which will be difficult. Based on my opinion they have to decrease the amount of admission fee as there as so many students who wants to study in st teresa's but dont have the money to pay.

Faculty

Almost all the faculties are having pretty much experience along with proper degree that will effectively impacts on our learning experiences. Their teaching method is also bit easier when comparing it with normal colleges. Teachers are very friendly and we can open up our personal aa well as academic doubts with them.

This is a tourism and hospitality course so the study us the languages like frunch, German etc. So it is very helpful for our future because all the time the travelers are foreigners and the curriculum gives us to communicate with them fluently so that they provide us to study forieng language. I have only one suggestion that they provide a communication session with the foreigners that will help us to improve our language

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum had so many unnecessary subjects that had no connection with our courses like psychology, zoology etc. They could have avoided that. Jewellery Designing students also had to study advanced minerology . Which in my opinion was a bit unnecessary. Apart from that i learnt to improve my drawing and rendering skills. Learnt about new types and also the history of jewellery Designing. Tools and Machinery used.
