Lady Shriram college for women

Dislikes

  • As our college is a very old one because of that we face a lot of problems like fans not working properly sometimes the tubelights,we done have proper generators. The infrastructure here in the old building is quite poor.
  • Sometimes the water avalibility is not there when there is no electricity.also you can feel the vibration of the fan by sitting in your desk it's that old.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Our curriculum in terms of its relevance is not so good I feel because we are just taught all the basics and theory and we also have some other subjects like sec and vac which I feel like it's an extra burden for the students and because of that we are not able to focus more on our core paper that is political science. As a political science student I feel we have to be guided with various things like writing research paper, analysing quantitative and qualitative data etc but instead we are instead taught only things.

Internships Opportunities :

I don't know more about internship because I haven't been a part of it although. But my friends who has done internship told me that our college provides less internship and as a political science student I don't think we get hired for internships. This question can be answered better by a commerce student.

Placement Experience :

Our college has placement cell and also the research wing to search fro placement opportunities and also help students in their CV vetting process and guide them to make proper cvs .the highest package offered to our college is nearly 35 lakhs from commerce department and the average package ranges from department to department. My plan after completing ba political science is to pursue law .

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Our college fees is minimal it's only upto 20000 a year ... So it's not a big fees as compared to other private universities. Our college also provides scholarships to students from ews section and there are some concession for students from other quotas I think ... I am not sure about it ...but the scholarship thing is true.you get scholarship if you pass some exam I think.

Campus Life :

The overall campus atmosphere, societies are all amazing.we get peaceful and calm environment in college lawns ,our college always wins the green cup because of its greenery .the society like mun, drama ,music society etc are all good.our college has 3 set of things NSS which is related to ngo ,NSO which is related to sport's,and NCC,the cadets .we get all kinds of all to read in library a variety of books .

Admission :

The eligibility of this course is any language + 3 main subject.you can get into delhi University by clearing cuet exam and if you want to get into LSR you must score above 720 out of 800 .I scored 764 and got admission in LSR . If you are from any reservation category you have score more than 700 to be on the safer side .I feel the cuet exams are not that hard you can crack it easily if you prepare from ncert thoroughly.

Faculty :

most of them are so interactive and always make sure you understand things. They make us to think about everything critically, evaluate and shapes our perspective. Some professors even though they act strict sometimes but they always make sure there is no favouritism and all ,they treat everyone equally and mark everyone on the basis of their work. They guide us in every thing , whatever the doubt if it is related to studies or not the try to help us in whatever way possible.

Placement Experience:

Sri Venkateswara College provides placements for Science and Commerce Students, not for BA Students. The college has a good record in the placement cell. I am an Arts student so I don't have any placement. So I choose UPSC as my career option. I will try until I succeed.

Placement cells do not provide placements to English graduates. Only a few companies came to hire English graduates. I'm planning to do a master's or B.Ed to secure a career in teaching after my graduation.

6th-semester students are eligible to apply for campus placements. Companies like Bains and Co., KPMG, etc visit our college. Some are known and some unknown. I did not participate in campus placements as I decided to go for higher studies.

Remarks:

The college is good and faculty teacher is very helpful and the canteen is great. The playground is very big and clean. College has many societies. Admission process is merit based and first cum basis.

Admission:

No, because my admission merit based and my performance and sc quota so I can't face any group discussion, interview, or written tests. My result calculation is sufficient to get admission.

Remarks:

The college is excellent when it comes to academic excellence though it lacks a bit in infrastructure and placements.

Admission:

After giving my 12th class board exams I was looking at potential places to do my graduation from and Delhi University and Jamia millia islamia were on the top of my list due to their reputation and excellent national rankings. I ended up choosing jamia because it had the reputation for being very academics oriented and having a sincere student body. The fact that jamia has an entrance exam was also a draw for me as it ensured my peers were selected on the basis of stiff competition ensuring I got the best environment to pursue my academics.Jamia conducts its entrance exam around june-july with admissions taking place in august. The admission process is pretty straightforward and most of the process such as registration and payment of fees is online. The final registration is done in person in the university itself. Original documents such as 10th and 12th marksheets are required as well as character certificate and school leaving certificate. The list of required documents is available on the university website.
