  • Spoken english of most of the faculty is not up to the mark which is really disappointing.
  • Students might feel a burden due to long 9-4 college hours.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The couse BCA is itself a very good course keeping in mind that those who had elected non science field in their +2. Here in college the curriculum is made on the basis of the stuffs we need to know thoroughly and proper time allocation for all the subjects is also properly done.

Internships Opportunities :

As I have mentioned earlier 99.5% of the students gets placed and the companies that come for placements are really good that includes Cognizant, Wipro, SAP Labs etc your 3/4 yr study would really make it worth it. All the students will get all the required guidance from the Placement officers who are present at college, they will make the placements possible for you. Just follow what they say, keep your gpa at a good level thats it.

Placement Experience :

Placements will start from 3rd Year itself. Mostly all students will be eligible to sit for the placements. Many renowed companies do visit for campus placements like SAP, Cognizant, TCS, Wipro, LtiMindTree, etc. As per college 99.5% students gets placed. The average package stands at 20,000-30,000 per month. For me I dont think the numbers are good, so I would preferably go for MCA or work-integrated learning, that would boost the salary.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The tution fee for BCA in IEM is 3,67,000 (3 years), which i think is affordable. They take 67000/- at the time of admission and then 60000/- per semester. I dont think they would hike their fees for now. Those who want to avail scholarships they just have to get that approved by the college, its that easy. Some of my friends applied for Swami Vivekananda Scholarship and got it. Our college also provides EMI payments.

Campus Life :

I can garuntee you, that you wont run out of fests, programs etc. Each and every week there is some kind of program or fest, and each and everyone who are interested can take part and many competetions are also held like quiz, debate, etc you can easily win prize and certifiates. Other than that there are sports competetion also like Cricket, Football, Basketball etc. If you are interesting in art work and writing then you can publish them in the magazine also. There are lots of tuffs you can do other than studing that would surely keep you engaged. And lastly if you are interested in Music then you can take part in the student made bands and perform during any fest etc.

Admission :

You are eligible for BCA in IEM if you had either Maths/ Computer Science/Applications in your +2 level. The cutoff is i think 60%. At my time of admission there were no entrance test, if you are eligible then you can take admission. But ig from 2024 its entrance exam based, everyone has to give an entance exam. But I am unsure about the cut off of the entrance exam. But its a bit beneficial cause at my time, students who scored 90+ and students who scored 60 or so can easily take admission, marks didnt actually matter thenm and thats why the number of students of 2023 batch is pretty high.

Faculty :

Teacher Student ratio is really good nothing to complain about. The quality of the faculty is also good they have got good qualifications. But the main problem here lies is that most of the faculty struggles with spoken english ehich I personally feel like a problem. Keeping that fact aside teachers are always available to clarify your doubts and if you need help with something but it is preferable that you do that after 4pm that is after college ends, because that's when most of the faculty gets free. Students can easily approach teachers and hod without any hesitation but they need to take care of when they are coming and with what they are coming. that is you should not have any wague doubts

Course Curriculum Overview:

In my opinion, I'll give 3 rates of the course curriculum because what our course they don't provide that including internship. If they don't provide this course well , we can learn from YouTube, but we need internship most.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The technology has covered every sphere of life and for adopting some amazing technologies i choose to do this course to learn something outstanding and to dive deeper in the world of computers and machines. The curriculum can prepare you for the real world if you pay attention to your classes and studies you have to gain knowledge and always learn new skills to get into the job force. The course curriculum was good but the teaching methods can be improved. The exams were held twice a year one in November-December and the other in April-May. The exams were not very difficult to pass.

Placement Experience:

The placements are very good and even during these COVID times, various renowned companies visited our campus like Capgemini, Hexaware, Wipro, Infosys, CTC. The average salary offered was 3 LPA. The college was very supportive throughout the placement process and conducted various trainings to brush up our technical and aptitude skills.

Remarks:

GOOD DISCIPLINE: This is the most disciplined college in Barasat ever I seen. I always want a college which is very strict about discipline and punctuality. I got the college. LOW FEES: The total tuition fees of the course is just 14000 including semester exam fees and other fees and also study materials. It is very affordable fees for my parents. IN THE GREEN: Acutally I like green. The campus is very green full of trees. The college held in suburban side of the Kolkata - Barasat-Barrackpore Road. But communication is very cheap just 8 rupees needed for go through Barrackpore to Kingston.

Remarks:

I was really interest in computers since standard 11 as my computer marks were always good and up to my expectations so I decided to take computer application as my bachelor degree . Elders and also my teachers suggested me that Kolkata got a very good college or computer application . I wanted to do computer engineering but since I didn’t take up maths as my 11th and 12th I wasn’t able to select computer engineering so I opted for BCA in The Heritage Academy . I came to know that placement in my college is quite good as few well known companies come to provide us with the placement for example : Deloitte , Wipro , Amazon etc . And since Kolkata is quite near to my place I finally decided to study there in Kolkata in The Heritage Academy.
