- The campus is too far from main roads...as results there is no public transport facility
- The pressure to maintain attendance of 85% criteria can be stressful especially when we are balancing academics with internships.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum at our department is well structured by blending both theoretical foundations with practical project-based assignments however the college must focus on providing more weight for technologies like Blockchain, AI/ML, AR/VR. Rather than having this as an elective courses, it must be a mandatory course to take for all students.. Exams schedules are well-paced..while exams would be challenging..one must have good knowledge on topics to get good marks and score a good CGPA.
Internships Opportunities :
I dont think see companies visit for internship for 3rd year students but most companies visit college to hire final year students for Internships offering the range between 10k-50k and based on intership performances few companies provide PP0(pre-placement offer ) as well.
Fees and Financial Aid :
NMIT Typically reviews it fee structure annually Total Cost for Engineering if You are from KCET Entrance exams would be around 95k out which 60k is govt fees and 30k is college fees..remaining 5k is miscellaenous... I Believe Karnataka students can go with SSP/NSP scholarships but i dont think so there is financial aids scheme available in college.. Campus Placements at NMIT is quite good..more than 150+ companies visits college every year..if you are good enough to grab a job you can get placed at reputed companies.
Campus Life :
NMIT conducts cultural festivals annually called 'ANADYANTA' which is fun time for students to engage in cultural activities like dance, music , art , fashion shows... The libarary at NMIT is diverse...most of the books/textbooks part of curriculum is available and students can borrow for approximately 2 weeks duration..they must renew it before due dates.. Sports is really supported NMIT..many students enthusiast at sports partcipate at National/State/District level competitions. and there are many student tech and non tech club to support extra curriculum activities.
Admission :
I Joined NMIT through KCET in 2020 at that time cutoff was around 10k to get a seat in IT Courses like CSE/ISE. other ways can be Comedk or management seats. we dont have our own entrance exams for admissions. one should have good scores in PCM in 12th boards and a suitable ranking in competitive exams to acquire a seat at NMIT.
Faculty :
The faculty to student ratio at NMIT is generally favourable allowing for more personalized attentions and support from professors. most of the faculty members from NMIT hold advanced degress ( Masters/Phd) in their specific fields.. Many faculties use a mix of traditional lectures and modern techniques including practical project based learnings. their will LA ( learning assesment) conducted by NMIT faculties which is helpful to gain more knowledge on the specifc subject/domain.. My interaction with teachers is quite often..most of faculties are open to queries or discussion regarding the topics they taught in classes...all professors are approchable and willing to mentor students beyond the classroms Few faculties conduct extra curricular activities to engage students into the topics...and also they encourage us to participate at hackathons or any competitions and they are act as mentors/guiders for any project we work on..it can be final year project / semester mini project.
