Remarks :
I won't say that our college is the best college. But surely it's good enough to take admission in.
Entrance Preview :
For the marks I got, I had mainly three choices Govt. Amravati, Govt. Aurangabad, Govt. Nanded since I wasn't interested in private colleges. Aurangabad and Nanded are pretty hard to reach and these three colleges are almost similar. So I ended up choosing GCOEA.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Personally, I don't find the course to much appealing. As we all know engineering is very much technical field. But the course curriculum is still focused on therotical subjects. Course curriculum is vey much similar to that of Pune University's. One thing to mention though the seniours here conduct lectures of their own to teach technical skills.
Internships Opportunities :
No, our college don't provide any internship, not that i know of any. We have to apply for internships on our own. And I am not sure whether the college allow us to do so/grant leave for internships and all.
Placement Experience :
Placement here is very good. The number of companies come to the campus for conducting interviews like TCS, persistent, etc. TCS is a mass recruiter. The packages they offer is decent for a freshman. This year the topmost package received was 8 lacs per annum.
College Events :
Our college organizes many events out of which two events are very significant. First is PRAJWALAN, this is the cultural event of our college. And second is TECH FEST, our college organizes the largest tech fest of central Maharashtra. All colleges form Amravati and some neighbouring cities come to attend it.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Since our college is Government college the fees here is quite reasonable for all category students except for open. Open students have to pay nearly 77k while obc students pay nearly 30k while other category students have to pay below 5k. So, I guess it is quite unfair to open students.
Campus Life :
Campus life is very much interesting though not many activies are conducted here. Gener ration is like out of every four people one is girl and the rest of three are boys. Students enjoy themselves in thier own small groups. Most of the students are oriented towards course curriculum study only but few students try to acquire skills.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel rooms and mess is quite good and affordable like you have to pay something below 500rs for the hostel for the entire year and the mess costs around 7-8k for a year. But the only problem with the hostel is it has only limited students and it is filled according to the merit list.
Alumni/Alumna :
Alumni network is really widespread. Senior students always tend to help their juniors now and then. Some seniors even take lectures unofficials to spread their knowledge.
Exam Structure :
For 1st and 2nd year the exam structure is the same while for 3rd and 4th year it is quite different from the 1st and 2nd year. For 1st and 2nd year, there are three exams in all and internal. Two kinds of subjects one with 100 marks and other with 50 marks scheme. The 100 marks are divided into 2 class tests of 15 marks each and 10 marks internal and 60 marks of end sem while the 50 marks are divided into two class tests of 8 marks each and 4 marks internal and 30 marks of end sem.
Admission :
To get admission one has to participate in CAP rounds organized by DTE, Maharashtra Government. To get detailed information one can visit the DTE website. There every procedure is explained in detail. The admission procedure is same for all Government colleges.
