  • DU needs to improve the infrastructure of the college, especially the washrooms.
  • In Daulat Ram College, there's no Basketball or Volleyball Court. It creates many problems for the players and hence needs to be resolved.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I didn't know this course at the time of admission. My parents influenced me to choose this course and no matter how much pressure the Life Sciences students have to go through, this is a great course. With Zoology, Botany and Chemistry as its main domains, it offers a diversity of knowledge that may seem cumbersome over a short period, but actually, it is very beneficial for someone like me who is not interested in pursuing honours in a specific subject. Yes, the file work requires a lot of effort. The diagrams, the theory learning, attending all classes, assignments, reports, etc. It is challenging, so one must keep all these points in mind while opting for this course.

Internships Opportunities :

•I didn't participate in any internship in my first year. I've spent my first year knowing my college. What are the semester exam criteria, the department, and how many hours and efforts do I need to put in to score better? Everything. I'm looking to enrol on internships for 2nd year. •Yes, many internship opportunities are available in DU. The student needs to stay active and keep a check on all messages sent in the groups. • LinkedIn is a really helpful app. Paying ample attention to LinkedIn posts can help you enrol on an internship. • Plus, the chances of providing wrong information that is usually spread via WhatsApp messages are comparatively much less. • Even if the internship is unpaid, students can put some extra efforts and achieve medals along with LOR (LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION). This fosters your experience for more opportunities.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The course fee for 1st year was 33,910. A few complaints were filed by some students of my college regarding the fees, but the issue wasn't resolved. The fees were much more affordable for my family, compared to the fee cost by private colleges.

Campus Life :

The Fresher's is held mostly in October. The Diwali Fest is also held. The most awaited season of the DU; The Fest Season begins in January end and lasts until March. Each college holds its own Fest on specific dates. Many artists are invited as the main performers for the fests. If you're not fond of the artists invited to your college, you can attend some other college's fest. The college library offers many encyclopedias, books from famous writers, and thesis books that can support your study material. The Campus of DU is filled with greenery and is a perfect example of "Clean and Green". Dustbins are installed every few meters to litter the waste. The sports campus is huge enough and has a gym building. Unfortunately, none of the gym equipment works, plus, the mentor there is very unkind.

Admission :

The course is offered to students based on their CUET score and Reservation benefits (if availed). I scored 655/800. After the release of the CUET Scorecard, the students had to prepare a preference sheet that included the colleges they wanted to be admitted as per their preference. Course preference option was also allowed. In the first round of DU CSAS, I was allowed a seat at Acharya Narendra Dev College. I applied for an upgrade and was subsequently allowed a seat at Daulat Ram College. CUET is an average level of the exam if you have a thorough and apt knowledge of your class's 12th syllabus. You can easily excel in it and get admission into your dream college.

Faculty :

The Life Sciences Department that commenced in August '2023 consists of a total of 82 students. The students are divided into 2 batches for the practical classes, 41 each. Each batch is taught by two teachers. conferring for better understanding and appropriate time allotment for file checking and making amendments as and when needed. The batch system applies to subjects Zoology and Botany only, that too for practical classes. For Chemistry practicals and Theory Classes of all subjects, all students are taught together. The students need to complete their files simultaneously with the practical classes. This fosters less pressure during the end-semester exams. Students must also accentuate theory and attend classes regularly to score more.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Because in the department of botany our college got 1st rank in all over India. And also botany is the core branch of any biology courses which belongs from plant biology. The frequency of exams was approximately 3 months in a semester. And level of examination was moderate which is pretty good for students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is very updated and deep. It is almost equal to the btech course. Many papers are the same as the btech syllabus. Better than many other university syllabus. May be a little difficult to catch up if you come from any other streams. Also, they provide a generic elective subject which is helpful for the students to acquire the basics from other streams.

Placement Experience:

you get eligible for placement in the third year and various companies approach you while you are in the third year provided you have a skillset. The highest package so far is of 25 lakh and the percentage of students getting placement is about 40 percent. My plans are also the same getting a placement and then seeing for further bigger opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My interest lies in Chemistry. So, I opted for it. The faculty of Dyal Singh College of Chemistry is good, some teachers are phenomenal but there are also some below-average teachers. In the last year, I had found good teachers. The curriculum is not so difficult, you just have to remain regular in classes. You can score good marks in Labs so it will be easier to pass the written exam. The exam happens in a 6-month cycle.
