  • The use of constructivist approach or including the children in the teaching learning process would have been a better way of imparting knowledge about a new language on the part of the teacher.
  • Further guidance of the career opportunities or any sort of placement would have been great on the part of the students.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course was good and appealing but it's real life application was not taught. As in the basics were known by the end of the class but speaking or interacting in french was still a task and was not that easy. Even the exam was yearly so no scope of feedback or improvement was left. It was overall a decent course .

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees was pretty expensive . Being a DU course it was somewhat high. No stipend or campus employment or any placement was given to any student . The cost was around 10 thousand excluding the transportation.

Campus Life :

Overall campus experience was good. It had library, canteen, sports, clubs and pretty classrooms. Made a few good friends too. But yes, the students of our course were not asked to get involved in any club or sports though the clubs and activities were there in the college . The computer lab was also there and the college was equipped with necessary requirements needed in the college.

Admission :

The course was for the school passed out (12th pass) students, anyone could apply. The process was easy and simple. We went to the college and filled the form and the admission process was done in one go without visiting the college again for the same. It was a bit difficult course and examination was held yearly.

Faculty :

The faculty was well educated and qualified for the post they were at. They had full knowledge of the subject. Any help in the subject matter can be discussed even after the class and the clarity on the same was given if required. The class was not over crowed and the teacher could focus on each student. But further divide of the class into two could have been great for individual attention. It's just that we students had to initiate in case we had any sort of doubts or questions but whenever we approached, we were explained and the problem or doubt was resolved.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Interest in French since school, 25 students and less in each batch, The teacher had a masters in french language translation and literature, had travelled to France and was very well versed with the french culture. Her way of teaching was extremely Well-structured and eloquent. Term exams for conducted by the GRS dept of Delhi University and students were provided with enough study material and assistance and all of them passed the exams with flying colours.

Remarks:

Management is best . As you know Daulat Ram College is a premier educational institution for women in Delhi, India, founded by an educationist, late Shri Daulat Ram Gupta in 1960. It is a prestigious college engaged in imparting liberal education to young women. The college, a large constituent college of the University of Delhi, originally started as 'Pramila College" at 22, Tilak Marg, New Delhi with 13 members of teaching staff, two office staff and about 350 students. In 1964, the college shifted to its present premises in North Campus, University of Delhi and was re-named as 'Daulat Ram College'
