The ambience is a bit mundane, college has a major smoking culture

Course Curriculum Overview :

The subject i opted for is english literature. As someone from. Science background in my higher secondary i naturally found it difficult, as i wasn't aware of most of the history but the teaches and my fellow students were more than happy to help me.

Class Size : 60Course Fees : INR 1250 per year

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

You can apply for scholarship if you have an economically weak background. The course fee is 1250 for 1 year, given the facilities this is a cheap compared to other colleges. The placement is a bit tricky in Arts as people are here aiming for higher education and getting into academia.

Campus Life :

There is annual fest in Jadavpur university called "sankriti" Its like a month long fest. There are games, quizes, paper presentation, dance, sports. Apart from this there are other fests also. Jadavpur is famous for its students involvement im MUN and other debating programees. Sports and social groups are also very active

Admission :

We had to give an entrance exam, and the final rank was based on our 12th percentage and the marks obtained in the entrance. My experience with admissions was very smooth the seniors and volunteers were very helpful. The application forms are released online and the entrance is held in the university. You do get reservations for ST, SC, OBC-A, OBC-B

Faculty :

They are very approachable, and most of them have done their higher education abroad. You can reach them easily through whatsapp or mail . If you aproach them with personal issues they try their best to be helpful.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Overall my course is good and suitable for me but one thing that i didn't like is exam timing. Exam timing is too short . Students have to write a 14 page of a answer sheet within 1 hour. This is almost impossible. College should change this rule and should extend the exam timing.
