- Almost every workshops are extremely busy, although the things we used are still still clean and little bit of rusty, but i dislike the dusty environment
- There should be some other kind of books available in the library except for engineering books
Course Curriculum Overview :
The electrical engineering curriculum is highly relevant, emphasizing practical learning with lab sessions and hands-on projects. It prepares students for industry roles and further studies but could improve with more industry collaboration and modern teaching methods. Exam difficulty is balanced.
Placement Experience :
the students take their placement after completing their 3 year. I cannot say that the placement package is very good, but it is decent enough. Average package is 2.6 lakh per annum. I think that the highest package offered is 6 lakh per annum(not sure). Companies like tcs, wipro, himadri chemicals, bullet visit our college and give placement, but most students got placed are from electrical engineering department. Because i think they are more studios than others. And at Iast i have thought about pursuing higher studies in b.tech after completing the course.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
This college fees is extremely affordable. Extremely means extremely. I don't remember the exact amount, but the fees is 1800 rupees per year. there is also availability of vivekananda scholarship, and railway ticket concession, which is extremely helpful for lower-middle class students..the total cost of every single thing is no more than 5000 for 3 years.and i am an 1st year student so i didn't participate in any campus employment activities.
Campus Life :
My overall experience with campus life has been positive. The college hosts an annual function, a sports event, a tech fest, and an alumni meet-up every year, providing ample opportunities for students to engage and network. The library is well-stocked with all kinds of engineering books, ensuring that students don't need to purchase their own materials. However, there are no social clubs on campus, as students tend to focus on their own studies and personal interests. Despite this, the events and resources available contribute to a fulfilling and enriching campus life.
Admission :
To gain admission to this college, candidates must have passed the class 10th board exam with the minimum required marks. After this, they need to take the West Bengal JEXPO exam and secure a good rank. In my case, I obtained a general rank of 165 and a category rank of 30. However, only the general rank was considered for admission as it was sufficient for the electrical engineering course. Additional details about the process can be found online. The course consists of six semester exams and twelve internal exams, all of which must be passed to qualify for the semester exams. The registration process was very smooth, leaving no room for improvement in the admission procedure.
Faculty :
We have one teacher per subject , but for the case of some few subjects we have more than one teacher. The teachers are extremely friendly and qualified. They have amazing teaching techniques. And every teacher takes their classes in their own time except there is some teacher's meeting or something like that.
Interview Experience :
No,there were no such things like group discussion, interview or written test.the only ways of admission i know about is JEXPO and VOCLET exams, where through JEXPO one can get admitted into 1st year and on the other hand through VOCLET one can directly get admitted into 2nd year
