- I liked our seniors they are really helpful, our teachers they always solve our doubts also our classmates, it's a really friendly environment here without any ragging or anything which is mostly expected from a govt college.
Dislikes
- The infrastructure is a little bad here. There is shortage of water supplies in on part of the building... The bathrooms are also not very cleaned and the fans in our class doesn't work properly..
- Even though it's a building with 4th stories and there is lift available but the authorities kept it shut down and doesn't let anyone use it.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course because there are a lot of opportunities in the line of computer science technology. If I do BTech I can clear my basics through this course and if I want to do the job I can also get it just after 3 years if I study properly. There are four faculty members for 60 students in our department. The faculty members are highly qualified and they are very good teachers. There will be 4 internals and two-semester exams in each year.
Internships Opportunities :
There are a lot of companies that will offer you job opportunities with internship offers "Thoughtworks" offers 1.5 years of paid internship in which period they will teach you everything from the beginning and then they will offer you a job of at least 10-12lpa. Some other companies will come to offer jobs like Infosys, Tata Power, DRDO, etc.
Placement Experience :
After 4th semester, companies will be coming to our campus for job opportunities, There will be 5 to 6 companies coming each year at least... They will take written tests also interviews before selection... The highest package after doing an internship for 1.5 years a student can get 12-13lpa. The company which offers this facility is called "Thoughtworks". 40-50% of students will be getting placements. Depending on their knowledge and quality. Though I plan to do BTec after this.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee is less, it is only 800. Except for admission fees each year and semester exam fees college won't take any more money from you. There is a library in our college from where you can collect books for studies. There is no scholarship in this line but after 3 years of college, there will be some awesome private & govt. companies who will offer you on-campus job offers.
Campus Life :
It's great, there will be one annual fest in the college called "Metamorphosis" also our seniors will host "Freshers" for new students, "Teachers Day" for all our respected teachers. There will be an annual sports festival between all the other departments called "Polympic". Each department also publishes one magazine each year, and the students from each department make it with all their efforts. There will also be other festivals like Saraswati Puja, Biswakarma Puja, etc. There are no specific club activities. All the students regardless of their department stay in harmony.
Admission :
There was a government entrance exam called JEXPO, and only students whose rank was in the top 200 were eligible to get admission to the Acharya Prafulla Chandra Roy Govt Polytechnic College. You need to pass your Madhyamik exam to be qualified to sit for this exam. You can find the application form for the exam on the govt website on Google. There were no application fees required. The cutoff was a bit low for reservation candidates.
