- The very first thing which I like about guru nanak dev University is that the faculty has taken care of the biodiversity around
- Proper parking facilities and no use of cars in the campus.
Dislikes
- Sometimes felt that there is no system of proper maintenance in the education sector
- Not proper maintenance of cleaning and hygiene in the cafeterias and canteens
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose the course of journalism and mass communication because since from like childhood whenever I saw news anchors on tv I also thought that I would also be one of them and there way of speaking and handling all the things really motivated me to opt this course and when I entered in this course I got to know all the things about the world of journalism and media . How things actually works. Got to meet my idols of the industry. I feel this thing that choosing this course was my best decision of my life . Because this gave wings to my all the dreams . I think that the subjects are very much good and easy for everyone to study who want to pursue journalism. Teachers should gave some practical knowledge to the students. The timing of the exam is accurate and ok and the difficulty level is also not much like it is which any student can do who have some basic knowledge and information of journalism
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The tution fees of students is increasing day by day which is not easy for everyone to pay the fees structure should be changed and minimised .the complete cost of my course would be around 3_4 lakh as it is a complex and unique course and talking about other things of like accommodation it is 40_50k For sc/st students there are scholarship programmes under Punjab scholarship in which they are funded with the whole fees and for general category students there is also financial aid who are not eligible to gave money they are given the compensation of fees which would depend it would be full half or partial.
Campus Life :
The youth festival of guru nanak dev University is very popular among the students. It lasts from like October to November and it is a inter College based programme in which all the colleges under the university participate . They perform in various activities such as in arts, literary, quizs, social works, human interest. The another one is jashan which is of inter departmental in which all the departments participate. The classroom structure of the department is very good and were having good lighting and air. The university has a sports department which specifically focuses on sports and related activities. In this the students participate on a larger level and won medals and trophies for university Sath is a social group which is runed by students and students have a very much impact on it influencing their life and thinking
Admission :
Eligibility _12th pass from any board We can easily find all the details regarding course on the official website of guru nanak dev University in the website they provide all the details of admission, entrance exam and application forms No such details of reservation is provided it is provided after the admission when there is a counselling In my course the entrance exam was not much difficult and it was like easily cracked The details of the admission process should be mailed after giving the entrance exam because sometimes it became difficult to find out
Faculty :
First of all. I want to say that teachers sometimes do not gave time to the students and leave on them that you study on your own terms and when there would be a problem then consult to me. A teacher it is your first duty to clear the concepts and instead of this you are relying on students to do things on your behalf and when there would be a problem in the concept they will say us that you did wrong but will never say this that they didn't cleared us the concept. this is only for like some exceptional teachers. Sometimes some teachers also became our great mentors to do the things and motivate us to do great in our life. Sometimes teachers and students make personal relationships like they became friends and start to share their things.
Interview Experience :
I faced the entrance exam which is a basic knowledge test for qualifying the course .so before admission and in application process we're given the syllabus of it in which we have to study about it and related topics after qualifying it were eligible to take admission in the campus.and after this the head of the department will take your interview in which they will ask you the reason for opting this course and your future plans
