  • Not much campus area. Small campus which does not have sports ground or any other activity area, but we cannot expect so much in South Bombay
  • Hostel mess is not that much good. The food quality is okay with limited options.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum is according to the Mharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) which is a very well recognized university. It is very encouraging and intriguing curriculum as it pushes the students to be the best in academics as well as in practical. Which focuses on students being overall better doctors.

Internships Opportunities :

The college hospital itself provides with one year of compulsory internship. It is a paid internship in which you get 18000/- rs a month and a huge amount of patient practice. With the name of the college one can get a lot of internship opportunities out of the college too.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Being a givernment college the course fees is very less and one can afford it also. The complete cost of the course for a general category student is around 4 - 4.5 lacs thats it and the course being a 5 yr course (4+1 yr internship). The student section of the college helps in availing various scholarships that the government as well as the NGO's provide to the students. The 1 year mandatory internship pays well 18000/- a month which is from the governmemt of Maharashtra.

Campus Life :

The crowd that we get here is amazing. People from various state and regions come here. There are a lot of clubs in which you can enroll. Majority of them are academics related but the cultural clubs are also good. And you can also enroll in the rotract club of Mumbai with the student id of the college. And you ofcourse get differebt privilleges and perks of living in South Bombay.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostels here are good. Lies in the heart of Mumbai city. Imagine the college is literally 15 mins of walk from Marine drive. The rooms and beds are good. The room here is a sharing room in which 3 people live together. The Mess facility is available. The food quality of the mess is not that good. The options are also less. But alternatives are available in the form of tiffin services, etc.

Admission :

The application process is throught both the state as well as All India counselling seats. The cutt off of the college is variable every year. The year I took admission (2022) it was 500 marks in NEET for General Open Category students.

Faculty :

The teachers in our college are very hard working and the best in the field. All have a minimum of Masters in Dental Surgery (MDS) degree but some of the proffesors have degrees such as phd, llb, mba, etc. The faculty members are really very supportive. For a subject we uave atleast 3-4 Proffesors. They insist on helping the students and focus on the practical work more. In our college we get hands on experience on working with patients while in some of the private colleges even the interns do not get to work on the patients. Vey good and very well managing staff.

Nair dental hospital and college | Bbds

Nair college and hospital does not have a patient flow as good as Government Dental college and hospital. And Nair college does not provide hostel facillities in 1st year of college

Course Curriculum Overview:

Like many others, for me dentistry was not the first choice but definitely a better choice to pursue after clearing NEET-UG. The curriculum includes clinical work i.e. working on patients right from the 3rd Yr, I think that's what makes the students better prepared even before completing graduation. Additionally, students are given information about recent updates and newer researches in dentistry. Newer teaching methods using AI and online teaching should be promoted for theory lectures. Maximum hours should be given for clinical practice.

BDS is the only degree where you start with specialization. You have a limited part to deal with but has diverse clinical cases. One can easily set up a clinic after BDS unlike MBBS . The course also has the involvement of medical subjects for first two years. Each year has two internal exams , one prelims and then a final university exam

Course Curriculum Overview:

Surgery is the aspect that's why I choose this profession. Being A dental student I know that Dentistry is an Art and science subject and I love art and science at the same time. We have 4 subjects Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, and Dental anatomy and histology these subjects are for the University exam I think for subjects like Anatomy Physiology Biochemistry there should not be the proper MBBS teachers because those teachers do not Respect our course as our teachers does.
