Course Curriculum Overview :

The course of journalism and mass communication is a very interesting course for me as it teaches how media is involved in our hole society and how it is so much important for our society . From this course I could have many opportunities in future like I could be a good journalist, scirpt writer, director and many more this course is really very important nowadays . Because nowadays without media we can't do anything. But I think this course have more theoritical work than practical I think practical work should be added more .We have 6 semester exams in this course which was taken after 6 months from every semester and the syllabus Is I think very tough .

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Fees structure differ from course to course like I am doing journalism and mass communication honours my fees per year is 24000 . So it's differs. And also we have to give examination fees extra before any type of examination . We can have swami vivekananda scholarship for every student which gives you 12000 to 16000 ruppes per year. But campus employment was not so much good .

Campus Life :

Asutosh college is also famous for their various kinds of events every months many well known singers and bands come here and show their performance. Many kinds of events happened inthe college where students can also take place . But the classroom have not many facilities like cctv camera etc . Many sports tournament are also being organised by college where students can participate . Like cricket, football, carrom, badminton and many more .

Admission :

You can take admission to Asutosh college from their official website the admission process generally starts from July to August . You can find application from application fees from the official website of Asutosh college . The eligibility criteria is very tough for our college as it is one of the top colleges in kolkata you need to score minimum of 92 % for taking admission in journalism and mass communication course . The exams was taken after every 6 months and it is really hard . You need to study well for passing the exams .

Faculty :

Our faculty members are enough to teach the students as each department in our college have 6 to 8 teacher's . And their behaviour towards students is also very good they really communicate with students in a very gentle way . They also help us when we need them they always attend our calls and try to help us if we need any help . Really as our mentor they are really fabulous .

Course Curriculum Overview:

After completing my intermediate I got a very interest in the journalism field so I decided to choose this Course as a Carrier option. Mass Communication helped me to improve my communication skills with proper dignity and Discipline manner and also encouraged me to speak as a speaker in the crowd. Generally Internal and Final exams occurred in every semester and the Academic pressure is not so much.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course turned out to be very interesting and as a student who is interested in practical activities, it has helped me to explore parts of me that I was unaware of earlier. Due to my interest in writing this course was extremely helpful for me and it gave me a chance to figure out and sharpen my skills. The college consists of about 600 students and 40-50 faculty members. Mass Communication particularly had 4 faculty members and 15 students in one semester. The faculty members have all completed their respective masters and almost all are pursuing either Ph.D. or higher education. The exams were held twice every 6 months, one from the college- internal examinations and the other one by the university- board examinations. It was from the syllabus itself so it was not as difficult however the university exams did take it a step ahead and made it difficult for the students at times.

Remarks:

Every college has its own good and bad side. And asutosh is my college I don't think I will give much negative remarks about my own college. But I think they should be more attentive towards practical works and internship because now-a-days field experience and certificate matters the most.

Remarks:

The positive point if that the faculty members are good and helpful. The infrastructure is the best they could provide,be it labs or canteen. The activities are great too. The negative point is that they are very unpredictable with the exam dates or holiday dates, one cant plan well because of it.Also, they should provide food for the hostel students.
