- I love the infrastructure of ravenshaw University. It is a very vast property with every necessity needed.
- Teachers are very friendly and provides you with almost opportunities. The university has a lot of opportunities to provide to a student where he/she can built a strong CV.
Dislikes
- Teaching technique of some teachers needs to e approved.
- Regulations of the classes needs to be checked.
Course Curriculum Overview :
We have 14 core papers to be completed in 6 semesters. Other than that we have elective paper, a compulsory paper (subjects provided by the college and value and ethics paper. Exams basically happens once for 3 months. Also due to some exceptions strikes they are likely to be postponed or preponed . With time and being it will be easier to cope up with the education system, teachers style and techniques.
Placement Experience :
Placement differs again for different courses. In bachelor's of arts subjects there are less possibilities of Placements. But in other science and commerce faculties, they provide fine number of placements. The university should look up to the placements for the arts departments as well. It is so much needed as students always has an eye on the university to provide them the way of upliftment and on being independent.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees mainly is 2550 for the course. Apart from that for every semester we have to pay 250. Other than that everything is upto you whether you would like to spend on freshers, farewell, extra curricular etc. We recently got the NUA-O scholarship by the odisha government.
Campus Life :
Ravenshaw provides you with opportunity no other public colleges will provide when it comes to extra curricular activities. May it be sports, dance, music NCC ANYTHING. You just need to find those opportunities through the walls in and out of the university and grab them
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel cost is 8000 per year. But monthly it takes the mess fee which is 1200 mandatory. If other than that you took extra or more meals it will charge accordingly.every meal costs 30. We have different rooms. 3 floors and almost 5 hostels for girls.
Admission :
So this basically differs from courses to courses, but for the bachelor's it is easy to apply but usually a little difficult to get into ravenshaw. Firstly, you have to check the SAMS portal for the application form(CAF). And then fill that form and provide references of the colleges and do not forget to add ravenshaw as your preference. Then according to your 12th percentage they will provide you with results. There will be 3 options freeze, float and slide. If in the first place you got ravenshaw as you needed it then select the freeze option and you are good to go but if not in the 1 phase and you want to keep trying for other desires then select float and if you got a college which is not at your preference then select slide. Remember once you select slide or float you will not be able to apply to those colleges again. So choose wisely.
Faculty :
We have 32 students in my class and 5 teachers in the department. Most of the teachers are greatly qualified as well as amazing to be with. They helps us in every field, and whenever required they are also up for extra hours. But some needs to develop their teaching techniques as it makes difficult for student to acquire the knowledge in a certain manner.
