- The pressure of academics is not much as we can easily pass exam.
- The location is also good place everything is available nearby
Dislikes
- The interaction is not good here before everything we have to give intro to our seniors
- The faculty also lacks good professors in college
Course Curriculum Overview :
Course curriculum is designed perfectly, the curriculum in hbtu prepares us for preparing for gate exam or if we are targeting civil services exam like ies, upsc. The course is quite similar so we get an overview of all the concepts and syllabus while preparing for exams and thus we can study that topics in detail for exam point of view by our own.the course lacks in teaching as professors are not serious enough to teach us they just do classes and give assignment I personally feel it's not a good method of teaching. The frequency of exams is good but we very less time for end sem examination after mid sem examination just around 15-20 days
Internships Opportunities :
As of now I don't know about placement opportunities but the best I have heard from seniors is that we get a tpr representative in college who gives our resume for internship opportunity and we are given placement or internships opportunity according to it
Placement Experience :
The placements in college are quite okayish as the placement rate is good on an average the average package is around 8-9 lpa and technology branches have a good amount of placement and core branches like mechanical and electronics are also good . Students gets eligible for sitting in placement from 3 Rd year and most students gets placed in start of last year
Fees and Financial Aid :
The tution fees in college is 135000 for first year in which we are given all the facilities in college. In college we do get some scholarships like up government scholarship is provided in college to students below certain level of income like less than 50000 per year also the fee waiver seats are alloted on the basis of jee mains rank we get branches on fee waiver seat so we have to pay around 60000 rupees per year . And rest other like simen and reliance scholarship is available for all students above 10 lpa income also. The fees is not justifying if I tell personally as what is offered for this price being a government college is not justifying.
Campus Life :
The social life in college is the best possible thing that have happened after coming here I have made new friends , seen many clubs and also done workshops of aeroclub and robosoccer like things the orientation of clubs like technika , poetry club are good clubs here the club gives you vast opportunity for exploring yourself. I have made many friends in hostel and explored different locations of kanpur with them
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel facility for girls are seen on quite better side as girls get hostel in East campus only for all 4 years while boys gets hostel in first year in East campus and then for rest 3 years we have to go to west campus . The hostel rooms are okayish but who cares for it at end of the day. The hostel are there seater two seater and some single seater rooms are also provided to students in first year. We have around 8 hostel for girls and around 10 for boys
Admission :
The admission process was quite easy as I came to know about this college during councelling so I filled up it's form of counseling.and filled my choice preference according to me. After 1st round result we get seat in branches according to our jee mains rank and we get option of float or slide and till round 3 counseling goes on and at last internal sliding is done also two round of offline counseling is also done for leftover seats.
Faculty :
Well, coming to the faculty we see that faculty lacks in hbtu as old professors are being placed in departments they just give assignment to students no course is completed in class we have to see everything from YouTube for exams and faculty is like ride in behaviour they just want what they have taught in class they don't except our writing in exams specially in engineering physics department
