- Great exposure to the industry because of the guest lectures and alumni meets.
- Great connections with the industry's leading companies and hotels like Oberoi, Hyatt, Taj, Radisson etc.

- Syllabus needs to be renewed as it is not set up with the current standards of the industries.
- Small campus, no space for any physical activities like sports.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum at my time was a bit outdated. The version of POS which was used to teach was not used in any of the hotels at that point. There were many updates and we had to learn how to use the actual POS in the hotels while working itself. Although the course is quite effective when it comes to culinary and food & beverage recent trends are not followed.
Internships Opportunities :
Internships are provided by the college and students themselves can go and give a walk in interview in the hotels if interested. Many hotels come to the campus to take people for internships like Radisson, Hyatt etc. Training is of 4 months and happens in 2 batches (summer and winter). After the training, there is a project report submission and presentation day for all the trainees, that happen in the college.
Placement Experience :
Placement starts in the third and final year of the college. Multiple companies and hotels come to visit the campus placements like Oberoi, Hyatt, Radisson, Taj etc. and retail companies like Delhi Duty Free etc. and Airlines line Indigo etc. Highest placement in 2018 was around 300000 and lowest was around 144000. 100% students got placed.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fees is lesser than the competitive colleges since it is a government college. There are financial scholarships provided. Anyone can avail the scholarship from their respective State Government Welfare Department.
Campus Life :
There is an annual fest where the entire college takes part. The overall experience was great because of different events happening in the college from festival celebrations like Lohri, Christmas etc. to Dinning events and alumny meets. Many course related books are available in the library among which some of them have been written by the faculty members of IHM Lucknow itself. There is a sports day as well which happens with the annual fest.
Admission :
In 2015, most people were applying offline, which I availed as well. The cost of the form was 900 rupees. Eligibility - Class 12th with English as a compulsory subject. There is an NCHMCT Joint Enterance Exam and last year (2023), the cutoff rank was 5433. Entrance exam happens once every year. The admission process is pretty smooth.
Faculty :
The faculty is highly qualified and most of them have previous industry experience, hence they were able to explain the concepts in a better way. There are multiple competitive exams for the people to join the college(s) all around the country. The faculty to student ratio is 1:40 and therefore students can reach to the faculty memebers quite easily.
