Avni’s true review of nmims

Dislikes

  • Management could be better as the director was new and had hardly any management experience
  • Thrift between the placement and faculty could also be better managed as it hampered the students.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum of the course is same as Nmims Mumbai. Where some subjects like business simulation provide real world knowledge of business and its changing dynamics, there are some subjects that in my personal opinion that are a bit irrelevant. More subjects can be added that add value to real life learnings and enhance our skillset. It was a trimester based system, where diffuculty level of exams was moderate.

Internships Opportunities :

Internship opportunities were also plenty. Companies like berkadia, icici, crisil, reliance etc. Many of these companies provided a ppo with a good package. The projects that given were also good that give the student a practical exposure to the corporate.

Placement Experience :

The fourth trimester marks the beginning of the placement season. This year many big n small companies visited like pricewater coopers, ey, thomson reuters etc. The students are not 100% placed n some companies have revoked offer letters as well.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Tuition fees increases every year by 2 to 3 lakhs. The cost of education was around 24 lakhs. Not aware of any scholarships offered. No campus employment given or provided as the campus is located in the outskirts of Hyderabad where most things are inaccessible.

Campus Life :

The campus life is made by the clubs and committees which are student driven but the management always want to control these bodies and take them in their control. However we had an average campus life which could be better.

Hostel Facilities :

A four sharing room was given with quite good space and infrastructure however the meals could be better. Menu was revised every month which included dishes for all cultures. It is a compulsory hostel no option is given.

Admission :

The admission process during my admission was quite simple, where you need to give nmat. The registration process for nmat starts in august/ September where you can book slots for giving exam as per your choice till January. Only first attempt was counted for all nmims campuses. The difficulty level of the exam is moderate without negative marking. After clearing the cutoff of 210 score, wat- pi was done online itself but currently the process is done at mumbai campus for all off campuses. The one thing no one likes about the process is that they charge registration fees of 2k to 3k at every step of process.

Faculty :

While some faculties were truly appreciated in terms of both knowledge and delivery some lacked in both. The faculty to student ratio was also very low which could be improved as the upcoming batch is larger.

Interview Experience :

It was a wat pi where topic was something about politics and politians. The interview revolved around marketing concepts, ads, languages etc. The cutoff for nmat was 210 and i did not take any coaching etc.

Remarks:

At first, I was very focused on joining an IIM for my MBA but as the the cut offs were pretty high and I couldn't crack them and I didn't want to lose another year, so I started looking for a college that will accept me at the last minute. I found this college and it's admission process was still going on, hence I decided to join it after considering a the good facilities along with an impressive placement records of past years. The application form was submitted through the online process and I also had to pay an application fee for the process which I don't remember now.

Placement Experience:

To help us be ready for the final placement, the institute invited Professional Trainer who conducted various Skill Development Program for the acquiring of the openings arise in various corporate organizations from time to time. While giving us these training, the institute keeps our employability in mind. Also, here we had a Campus Corporate Program that helped us gain excellent Placement. The top companies that visit our campus every year for final placement include Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, HP, Amazon, ICICI Bank, and many more.

Admission:

The management course was very much interesting to pursue. I applied here for the MBA after giving this TSICET entrance. As per the TSICET scores which were 80 percent and my graduation percentage, I was able to get into this college to pursue the same course.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of the college worked brilliantly during my final semester. As all of us were given a good opportunity to enhance professional communication skills. Like I got placed in Wipro with a good salary as a junior marketing head.
