Life at IITD

Course Curriculum Overview :

The coursework is very much aligned and focused on how the research journey is going to be. The amount of course work one has to complete is dependent on your background and how good your foundational knowledge is.

Internships Opportunities :

There are a lot of internships available in IITD for Btech and Mtech students in summer and winter both. IIITD very profoundly advertises for the same and it is a great opportunity for those who want to get the feel of IITs to apply for these internships and have an opportunity to learn and enrich their skills.

Placement Experience :

The placement at IITD is excellent. Various renowned companies like Intel, Microsoft, Softbank, ST Microelectronics, Facebook and others take students from IITD with exemplary salary packages. Actually the vibrant culture that IITD has very well and from.very early prepares one for the placement interviews and examinations.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

There are multiple scholarships available for meritorious students as well as for female candidates. The Alumni of IIT Delhi also has established numerous scholarship programs for the deserving candidates

Campus Life :

Life at IIT Delhi is a bliss. The aura that IITD has is an asset in itself and a goal to be pursued on its own. Excellent work culture, thought invoking discussions, problem solving collaborations and alike make the journey of PhD an even more beautiful experience

Admission :

Eligibility is a Masters Course in the relevant field that you are applying for. There was a test and an interview before the admission process. The interview was very exciting and enthralling. The college is the best in India and has an established repute all over the world.

Interview Experience :

The interview for admission was a very exciting event. It felt much like a discussion rather than an interview. It was very interactive and interesting. The panel was very humble and generous and encouraged me all the time while answering the questions.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would like to pursue Ph.D. and I am highly interested in ME so I chose. Faculty students ratio approx 40/60. Most of the faculties are having Doctorates degrees, Masters's and also have a concern with industries. In PhD there is 6 months of course work and remaining the year there is research work. The total duration of this degree is 4 years from the date of SRC.

Remarks:

Overall it's a good college where you get good exposure and also it gives you a direction in which you must head for the future.Yeah you might say they are more inclined towards studies and all but then you can also take it as that they're preparing you to become a hard worker and excel in whichever field you're going in.

Entrance Preview:

I took the GATE exam and secured 673 rank in Electrical engineering.I did Mtech in Industrial engineering in 2012,then after one year break continued for Phd.

Placement Experience:

Average package level for Btech students is 7-8 lacs, there are only few extraordinary students in some departments who get higher packages. Placements for Mtech students is not good.
